"You will take us to the Resistance X-Wing." Serer commanded the Stormtrooper. "And if anyone asks where you are taking us, you tell them we're being taken for questioning."
He opened the metal cell door allowing them to walk past him first, and then closed it behind them.
"Relax." Serer told Poe.
"You seem to have been in this kind of situation before." Remarked Poe.
Serer's heart sunk slightly at his words, remembering all those years past. "I've escaped a close call before."
Poe looked over at the her. She was cunning, and he liked that in a woman. His eyes narrowed slightly. He wanted to know more about her, but knew that now was not the time. But he was certain that whatever happened, he would protect her with his life.
"I don't believe I ever asked your name." He heard her state quietly as they rounded a corner.
"Poe." He responded simply. "And you?"
"Serer." She answered proudly.
"Well, now I guess we're official escape buddies since we're on a first name basis." Poe teased which he noticed caused a slight smile to appear on her face.
Serer stopped walking suddenly, a terrified expression taking over her face. "We need to get something before we can leave."
"What?" Poe asked quietly.
"We must retrieve my lightsaber." She spoke confidently.
"Have any idea where it might be located?" Poe questioned.
"In the hands of Kylo Ren."
...
"Sir." The voice of General Hux spoke.
Ren twirled the ignited white lightsaber in his hand, noticing how it moved so swiftly, but then turned it off. "What is it?" His voice growled.
"It's the girl. She hasn't been returned to her cell yet. We have word that the pilot has also been removed from his cell." Reported the General, his voice quivering.
"They're going to take the X-Wing." Ren hissed in disgust and rage.
He spent no more time on talk and stormed from the control room, placing the lightsaber hilt in his belt, and on his mission. She was not going to best him, he didn't care what he had to do, she was not leaving him again.
...
Serer's heart stopped as she could see the X-Wing not far away. Of course there were many Stormtroopers in the receiving bay, but if they could time it just right, this plan may not be a death sentence.
"Excuse me, you there." A voice called from behind them. "Where precisely are you taking these captives?"
They all turned around, Serer eyeing down the man. "He's taking us to be questioned, you blockhead." Serer spoke, allowing her temper to best her judgement.
Before she knew it, a blaster was placed under her chin, and the man fuming with anger. "That's no way to speak to a General, especially one who could end your life with the pull of a trigger."
General Hux stared down at the girl, his eyes turning into slits of fury.
"Now, I don't believe Ren would be too pleased with one living captive. It would be of your better judgement to put the blaster away." Poes teeth gritted themselves with his last worlds as though to state his threat towards the man.
"I'm afraid I'm going to-" But before he was able to say anymore, Serer punched the man in the abdomen, causing him to drop the blaster and double over in pain. Without hesitation, she then kneed him square in the face, leaving him unconscious and with a bloody nose.
"Remind me never to get on your bad side." Poe spoke, his eyes wide in shock but also admiration for her quick thinking.
"No doubt a security camera somewhere knows our location. We're going to have leave. Now." Serer spoke breathlessly as she bent down and picked up the blaster.
She quietly chuckled to herself for a moment as she switched the blaster from its safety mechanism and hid it in the inside pocket of her jacket. "Some tough General."
"What about your lightsaber?" Poe remembered.
Serer smiled at him devilishly. "Don't worry, the plan is in motion."
She then raised her hand and the Stormtrooper began walking forward with them towards the X-Wing. Stormtroopers stared them down for a moment, curious of why they would be in this area.
"Give me your blaster." Serer whispered to the Stormtrooper, who obeyed her commands. She knew Poe would need this one due to her already having the Generals tucked and hidden away. Slipping it to him, he walked cautiously.
Arriving at the X-Wing the moved to its right side, attention was finally drawn to them as Stormtroopers began rushing over to their position. "Hey! You're not allowed to be over there!"
Poe began to shoot into the crowd of Stormtroopers, having impeccable aim. Serer climbed up the copilot station, knowing she had to save her surprise until later.
Poe continued shooting while climbing into the cockpit, as Serer saw her target storm through where they had once emerged from. Kylo Ren ignited his lightsaber walking towards the X-Wing furiously, twirling it in rage. Once he got close enough in range, and Poe covering her back, Serer whipped out her hidden blaster, firing at Ren's right shoulder. Not expecting the attack, it hit him full force, causing him to stop and grab onto it with his left hand.
A glimmer of hope shown from his belt as Serer could see the hilt of her lightsaber. She reached out her hand and the lightsaber flew from his belt and into her palm. He tried to grasp for it, but it was too late, the lightsaber was once again in the hands of its master.
Poe now climbed inside the cockpit and closed the hatch as the X-Wings engine roaring to life as Serer continued shooting at the Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren himself. Most Stormtroopers were taken down in one hit, but Ren continued to deflect each and every shot she took at him.
"Come on!" Poe yelled desperately as Serer climbed down, closing the hatch of the copilot position.
The X-Wing was hit by many blaster shots to the left side but was still able to take flight, giving Serer's stomach a jolt. Before she knew it, they were free, but an unknown danger soon threatened them.
