"Poe," Serer spoke suddenly, as she heard the sound of a missile being launched after them. "Poe!"
"I see it!" He yelled back to her, becoming quite frantic himself.
Serer quickly buckled herself securely in the X-Wing, holding onto the straps for dear life. A loud beeping rang out from inside the X-Wing as it turned and looped through the air.
"What is that?" Serer yelled up to Poe, who was too busy trying to avoid the missile to answer her.
"Hold on!" Poe yelled back to her. "We're going into light-speed!"
"What!" Bellowed Serer in terror. "Are you insane!"
"Maybe!" He responded, grasping the lever. "But if we don't, we'll be bits and pieces floating throughout the galaxy!"
Serer's eyes widened for a moment. "The light-speed will do!"
"Keep tight!" Poe yelled while finally pulling the lever, Serer screaming from the copilot position.
Serer shut her eyes tightly, not wanting to witness anything that was going on around them. Once the X-Wing gave a jolt, she opened her eyes, to reveal a greenish planet with blue, which she assumed to be water, in front of them. They traveled closer until they were almost in its atmosphere.
The X-Wing gave another large jolt, alarming Serer. "What was that?"
"Damn!" Poe yelled, craning his neck to look back at Serer. "Everything's going to-" The X-Wing suddenly began to fall straight from the sky and towards the planet itself.
"Poe!" Serer screamed desperately as the X-Wing continued falling faster and faster. She held onto the straps which held her in tightly with whatever strength she had. The aircraft now began to spin uncontrollably as it neared closer to the planet.
"We're going to be okay!" Poe yelled, trying to say whatever he could to calm her down. "Relax!"
"Oh! Don't you dare tell me to relax!" She yelled, closing her eyes once again tightly together.
After what seemed like an eternity of falling the X-Wing didn't hit land, but a body of water, both still inside. Serer opened her eyes and realized it wasn't floating on the water, but sinking.
"Unbuckle your straps and quickly climb out before the hatches go under!" Instructed Poe to her as he did just that. She watched as he unbuckled and popped open his hatch, crawling on top of the X-Wing.
Water began filling Serer's copilot position quickly. Reaching down to unbuckle the strap, she found the buckle stuck. Trying again and again as the water continued to rise, she started panic.
"Hurry!" Poe yelled to her, opening her hatch from the outside.
"It's stuck!" She yelled up to him in response as the water started reaching her waist. Poe laid on his stomach from the top of the X-Wing and reached down, trying with all his might to unbuckle the straps. But it truly was stuck, and time was running short.
"Please don't leave me." Serer begged of him as he continued trying and trying, the water now reaching her stomach.
"I'm not going anywhere!" He responded, giving a final push on the buckle. It gave way and Serer was finally free. She stood from the seat, her arms wrapping themselves around Poe's neck as he began lifting her from the copilot position.
She now stood with him on top of the X-Wing, holding onto him for dear life out of fear. Serer or Poe failed to notice the strap tangled around her foot, so as the top of the X-Wing was now glazed with water, Serer started to sink with the back half.
She screamed letting go of Poe as it now started to drag her under the waters surface. "Serer!" Poe cried, jumping off the X-Wing and down into the water.
The water stung his open eyes, but he was able to see her struggling with the strap. Swimming as fast as humanly possible, he took her leg and untangled it as quickly as he could. But by the time he was finished, Serer was floating motionless in the water. Grabbing her around the waist, she swam up towards the light until breaking the waters surface.
He gasped for air, putting her on his back, draping her arms around his neck, and keeping her head tilted up on his shoulder. Poe swam breathlessly for shore.
...
He dragged her onto the shore, and to his relief, she began breathing spitting out water.
"What happened?" Serer questioned.
"They must have drained the X-Wing, knowing that if anyone were to take it, they weren't going to get very far for very long."
"I am never, ever doing that again!" She spoke, still coughing up water. "I would rather explode then drown."
Poe laid down next to her on the sandy shore, chuckling quietly. "What's so funny?" She questioned, annoyed.
Their eyes met, expressing compassion for one another. "Thank you for saving my life." Serer now spoke, leaning over and kissing Poe's forehead.
"I owed you for springing me from the First Order." She spoke as she now looked down at her belt, the lightsaber sopping wet.
"Oh, this is just lovely." Serer spoke,
now holding the hilt of her lightsaber. "This is going to need to he repaired.""I think I know exactly where we are to go." Responded Poe, looking off in the distance at a large castle in the distance. "Welcome to Takodana."
"Takodana?" Questioned Serer, now standing from the sand. "You think we'll be safe here?"
"That depends on who knows Maz." Poe responded, now standing from the sand himself, and walking towards the castle.
"Maz?" Asked Serer, jogging to catch up with her. "Who is she and what can she do for us?"
"I imagine she'll be able to provide us a clean ship, something the First Order won't recognize as us and won't be able to-" Poe spoke, but cut himself off, realizing his own statement.
"You don't think?" Serer questioned, seeing the worry in his eyes.
"I don't know, but we'll need to move fast if they did place a tracking device on the X-Wing." He spoke, looking over at her.
"Come on then, we have no time to waste wondering and not doing." Serer stated, taking off into a run towards the magnificent castle in the distance, Poe following not far behind.
