After that treacherous first day of school, I travelled up to Alaska. It was far enough way from home and from him. It was perfect, far enough so that I felt no temptation. It wasn't as far as I needed at that moment. I mean, I could of easily gone back for him. But I didn't. Instead, I went up to Alaska to visit the Everetts. They are old family friends of ours. We discovered them when we lived there for a few years, before moving back to Seattle.
We visit the Everett's quite often. About every few years. That's quite frequently according to my kind. As many other vampires only see each other every other decade or even century. Time doesn't really matter to us. Hours go past, but we all stay the same.

Blair Everett is one of Audrey and I's best friend. When we first met the Everetts, Blair was a new born and was having terrible trouble adjusting to her new life. So, Audrey and I, having more years of experience at being a vampire, helped her out. Instantly we became really good friends.
Blair has an older brother, Landon Everett - obviously not biological. He wasn't there when we first met them, he was 'born' a few years after. But when the family did eventually come across him and took him in, he caught an immediate attraction to Audrey, which was quite amusing at the time.
Though it became no longer hilarious when his attraction to her got too obsessive, which then lead to a massive fight between the four of us.
So from that point forward, Landon stayed away from Audrey. Blair and I made sure of that. I guess it was kind of hard for Blair to turn on her brother like that. But, according to Blair, they've never had a positive relationship.
When either one of us was involved with Landon about anything, Blair was always incredibly protective of Audrey and I. Landon didn't like that one bit so he stayed away and made sure he was on his best behaviour when my family was over. Meaning only 'hellos' and 'goodbyes' were exchanged. Though just recently, a few decades ago, Landon started to act more friendly towards us. Not in a bad way, but in a good way. Talking nicely to us and being respectful. But just in the last couple of years, Landon has been acting incredibly annoying towards me. And you could imagine how well I took that.

For the duration of my stay, I've mainly been catching up with Blair. I know that I've been here for quite a while. That wasn't my intention. I just got so lost with time and trying to forget the boy and fighting the urge, that I forgot about the time that passed. I knew I had to go back. I should have gone back months ago. The longer I stay here the worse it will be when I get back. I've received many phone calls from my family, they want me to come back. But I can't, not yet.

When I first got here and explained why I was here alone I told her everything about Edmund Parker. She couldn't believe it herself, that such a scent existed. Though of course, if she were to be near him, he wouldn't effect her the same way.
As different scents effect different vampires in different ways. So that being said, yes that does mean that Edmund is the only human that will ever effect me like this. One human out of the whole world. And he just happens to go to the same school as me.

Once a month, my family and I go out on a hunting trip. It's a long time between each feed, but it's the price we have to make. It's only in the last week leading up to the hunt that we all get aggravated. Though whilst I'm away from humans and him, I thought that I might as well binge on the wide selection of animals here in Alaska.

I'm running through the forest that backs onto the Everett's house, searching for my first prey for tonight. The wind ripples through my hair and clothes. My feet barely touch the ground at the speed I am running at. My run is fast, yet elegant at the same time. To me, it doesn't feel as though I'm running as fast as I am. I mean, yeah, I can tell that I'm running fast but the speed that I run at now doesn't affect me the same way it used to. I mean, it's much more exhilarating then a rollercoaster or a racing car
so you can see why this is my favourite type of transportation.
