The characters of Edmund and Octavia are very special to me, and as you could see throughout your readings, their true personalities and characters came out as they began to understand who they were. Both characters struggled with understanding you they were as a person, what their purpose was in life and how much they truly mattered to the people that they loved.
Octavia was always shadowed by her best friend Rosemary growing up and then she was thrown into the life she never wanted. She never really knew what her purpose was and why she became a vampire. Though she was finally able to understand why she was chosen to have this life, as she discovers that her one true love is Edmund Parker.
Speaking of which, Edmund's childhood was a pretty hectic one. He, too, was thrown into a life he never asked for. One where he had to look after his drunken mother twenty-four-seven from the age of nine after his parents were divorced. For a child to take on that much hardship and responsibility would have been more than difficult. And then, once everything seemed to be looking up for his Mom and him, she died in a car crash. I don't think someone, no matter how tough and mature they are would be able to recover from that.
Though Octavia helped him through it and she showed him what true happiness felt like. I think that with their love story, both characters were truly able to become who they really are through each other.I wanted Edmund and Octavia to be the main focus for this book, as this is their love story; hence the other supporting and minor characters who came in now and then. Though they supported their love story and were a major part in creating this story
This was such an amazing journey and I absolutely love the characters I have created, and I hope that you do too.
Lots of love,
Taylor.
