My phone vibrated in my pocket, I pulled it out and looked at the caller ID and it was my dad.
"Hello?" I spoke quietly.
"Zak you better get home now." Dad told me.
"Dad I can't I'm out" I tried explaining.
"Where are you?" My father questioned.
"At the hospital...Molly's dad isn't well and I'm staying by her side all the way through this because I will not let myself turn into you! I will sit here for as long as I have to just to support her ok?"
"No not ok Zak!?" Obviously it wasn't ok with my dad! Nothing I have ever done since my sister died has ever been ok with my father!
"She's my friend! Well it's gonna have to be ok because I'm not moving! Bye." I cut him off. Molly looked up at me but I was sat staring at my phone.
"What's wrong Zak?" she asked me.
"That was my dad...he wants me to go home..." I explained vaguely.
"Why were you arguing with him?" Mol questioned.
"Since Molly...passed away my dad has always had a problem with everything I do. He doesn't like me getting too close to people in case we get split up because he saw the effects of it when Molly died," I explained "but he won't stop us being friends...I promise, come on you should go see your dad"
"I can't handle this; I need to get out of here!" Molly struggled to say anything.
"Come on we'll go for a walk"
I got up and lifted her onto my back. Jake came out of the room, "where are you going?" he asked.
"For a walk, wanna come?" I answered.
"Nah, I want to stay here" Jakey told us. We walked out of the hospital door and the air seemed a lot lighter than it was inside the building. Molly relaxed her legs a little from around my torso but not completely. We walked for a while until we reached the hill that we had been sat on earlier that night, we sat down and Molly immediately hugged me. I hugged her back as I felt a tear roll down my arm that had run from Mol's cheek.
I held her in my arms knowing that nothing I said or did could repair this or would make it all go away. I decided that the best thing to do was to listen if she wants to talk and hold her for as long as she wanted or needed.
We sat there for a while, we didn't talk but it wasn't awkward. Molly found her iPod and turned it on she handed me a head phone, I took it from her hands and looked at her music collection...not bad I thought to myself until I found Swedish House Mafia, she has amazing taste! I select Don't You Worry Child, I sing along under my breath. I heard another voice. It turned my head slightly so that I was facing Molly; her eyes were shut even though the song had finished. The next song came on and it was One Direction- What Makes You Beautiful. Normally I would have switched songs as fast as humanly possible but I wanted to see if she sang along again...I wanted to hear her voice. When the chorus came around she leant her head on my shoulder and started singing, her voice was that of an angel. I took my ear phone out so I could hear her properly but I let go by mistake and it hit her neck. Mol looked up, her big green eyes meeting mine. She sat up straight, turning off her iPod in the process.
"You heard me sing didn't you?"
"Yeah, you're really good Molls" I explained.
"Thanks" Molly replied with a shy smile.
I stood up and held out a hand to help her up. Once we were both stood up her sea green eyes met mine, I leant in and our lips met. It wasn't like the first kiss it was simple and sweet. We walked back to the hospital, on the way in I bought us both a bottle of coke and then we sat on the corridor as our seat had been taken in the waiting room.
"I know it's only coke but how about a game of never have I ever?" I asked her.
Molly's POV
"Sure why not" I replied, "You go first."
I watched him as he thought. "Never have I ever cheated on anyone" His eyes met mine.
This was a game that required truth not lies, he could have lied with any of his answers but I seemed to trust him enough to believe that he hadn't, so I told him the truth when it was my turn.
"No and I never will!" I replied confidently.
"Fair enough..." he began, "you don't look like the cheating type"
I sat thinking of my own, "never have I ever... kissed someone that you didn't like?" I smirked as I watched him; he took a long agonising sip of his drink meaning he had kissed someone that he didn't like.
My smirk dropped, I felt slightly hurt inside.
"Big mistake that I will never make again" he explained.
"Who was it?" I questioned.
"No one she doesn't mean anything to me I just helped her out once that's all then it escalated from there really." Zak answered.
"That basically describes our situation Zak..." I said, tears began to prickle my eyes as they welled up yet again.
