Five

**Hope's POV**

I wake up as per usual and the sun is shining bright. The house is quiet. Almost silent. Too silent. My heartbeat increases. She must be home

I open her bedroom door ever so slightly and I hear the movement of her sheets. She is home. I wake her up and we have breakfast together. I don't know why I was nervous. Maybe because I've been thinking about Sebastian too much. I've been wanting him to come back and tell me that he isn't leaving. I wish he didn't have to go. And I wish Mira didn't have to go in a couple of years. I'll be all alone in a couple of years. Unless I meet someone, then I wouldn't be alone. But that won't happen. I don't go out anymore. I don't go out wanting to mix the others, it's not me.

After Mira goes to school, I pack my bag and head out. This time, it will be different. I'm meeting one of my old friends that I haven't seen in ages. Her name is jade, and she has contacted me wanting to meet up. I meet her in the woods at 3:30. This is the most fun I've had in a long time. I haven't left the house since I last went shopping. Sometimes I even order online. It's so nice to hear the nature around me, to smell the fresh ocean breeze. We live close to the sea, so before meeting up with Jade, I go for a walk on the beach.

The sun tucks behind a cloud and then I see the waves. They are beautiful, the white tips crashing onto the crusty sand. I always loved the beach. It is cold and the wind is crisp and sharp. I have it bundle myself up in a head of jackets and jumpers. I've always loved winter as well. I walk away from the beach and head to the woods. I've got someone to meet.

Jade is waiting for me when I get to the woods. What should I say. What should I say? I haven't seen her in ages. We probably don't know anything about each tiger anymore. Well I do. I know everything and I've always known everything. She was my best friend since I was 5. We have played together, lost boyfriends together and also, fallen apart together. She was there for everything big in my life and everything minor. She was my mirror. She was me. We were one.

It starts to get awkward but then Jade begins to speak. "Hi!" She says with a squeak in her voice. Then, almost instantly, we hug. Pulling each other close. " I've missed you." I muffle into her coat. She says the same back and we have a wonderful afternoon. We have a picnic and then she has to answer a phone call. A couple of minutes after the phone call a weird looking man walks up to us. And another one comes behind him. She walks up to both of them, and hugs them both. They are her friends, presumably. Then she introduced me to them. The first ones name was Reuben and he has short spiky brown hair. The second one was gorgeous. His name was Jeremy . He has long curly blonde hair. He was adorable. From the moment I saw him, I knew he was my match, only if that was really the case. The other was Jades boyfriend. I couldn't believe she had one. When we were younger, she said that she would never get a boyfriend. But here she is. And here he is.

We spend the other half of the day frolicking around the woods, chatting, having a good time. It's the most fu. I've had in  quite a long time. At the end of the day, Jade and Reuben has to go, which left just Jeremy and I. I had to go home, so he came with me. We chatted some more and I fed him with the small amount of food we actually had. We were having such a nice time, but then Mira walked in. With a bloody nose, a black eye and destroyed and torn clothes. She was a mess. She was hurt. The first thing she did was drop her bag and run to me. I held her so tight in my arms that I thought she would retreat, but she never did. " Mira, what happened?" I ask. She snuffles. Then answers, " Bullies. Stupid bullies!" She starts to cry. I signal for Jeremy to go, but he stays and helps Mira get back to health.
