Ashley's POV

I was almost at the point where I would do pretty much anything so I could get out of this damn basement. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and braced myself. I shut my eyes tight and silently begged whoever was down here now to just leave me alone and unchain me. My pleads seemed to be answered, for some reason. I felt the chains being loosened on my now raw wrists, before they came off completely. I opened my eyes slightly, a bit afraid at what I would see. I felt the chains around my ankles beginning to come off and I look down. Jake. Jake was down here, letting me go. "Wha-what are you doing?" I asked, utterly confused as to why Jake of all people was the one releasing me. "Unchaining you, dumbass." He said and finished undoing the chains. I immediately stood up, unbelievably happy that I could sleep in my room tonight. Before I took even two steps forward, Jake roughly grabbed my arm, preventing me from going anywhere. "If you try anything, and I mean anything, I will not hesitate to rip your head off." He growled. I nodded quickly and left the basement as soon as he let go of me. I may not be the brightest, but I knew not to get testy with Jake. He could be vicious. Once I get up the stairs and into the living room, I sink down on the couch and practically bathe in the feeling. I haven't been this comfortable for who knows how long. "I only let you out becase you can't be in critical condition. We're gonna play shows again soon, so you need to be good for it." I heard Jake say. My head shoots up and I look at him confused. "Wait, shows? We're gonna start performing again?" I asked. "Yeah, duh. We had to start eventually." He said. After that, he just walked away. One day, I hope we can find a new guitarist, because he's a dick.
