The Elementals

Chapter 6

I open my eyes and realize that I am in the same position as last night with Ben's head on my lap.

I look around to see Kelli looking at me with wide eyes.

I sighed and carefully stood up so I didn't wake Ben up.

"Kelli it's not what you think. He kept calling my name when he was sleeping so I just calmed him down. That's it but please don't tell him that I said that." I told her as I went to take a shower.

When I came out, Ben and I made eye contact but he quickly looked away as if trying to avoid me.

I felt like my heart just stopped beating.

"So we should start searching for the elemental." Kelli said.

We both nodded and headed out into the town.

We searched and searched and as afternoon came, we decided to take a break and have lunch.

This time we went to a Mexican fast-food restaurant and ordered tacos and burritos.

As we were waiting for our food, Kelli stopped talking. I looked to where she was looking and saw a boy around 16 years old.

He had brown hair and red eyes. Wait red eyes? Since Kelli has blue eyes and she control water then does that mean this boy can control fire?

Ben and I had similar eye colors since we were the guardians, and we could control all the elements.

I had seen Ben's eye color change to green when he used the earth element. That was something I wanted to ask Kelli about.

We waited and ate our food quickly but never took our eyes off of the boy.

When he finally left, we followed him to his house keeping a safe distance.

Once he was in his house, we made a plan to go knock on the door and tell him everything.

"Kelli are you sure it's him?" I asked still a bit unsure.

"Positive cause I can fe- I mean I see a red aura around him." She blushed and looked down at the ground.

Huh? I wonder what that was about. I'll have to ask her later about it.

We knocked on the door and an older woman opened it with an annoyed look on her face.

She looked around 40 years old and had both brown hair and brown eyes.

She was wearing a blue T-shirt and the black Granny pants. Yep that's what I said!

"Hi, we were wondering if we could talk to a boy that lives here." Kelli kindly asked her.

"Sorry there is no boy that lives here." The woman said and then shut the door in our faces.

Rude much!

"OK but she's lying. We all saw him enter this house didn't we?"

Ben and I both nodded. We decided to come back later to check on the boy.

As we started walking back, we heard someone calling to us so we turned around and found the boy in the window.

We ran to him and he asked us to meet him at the park behind his house at 10pm.

We're back at the hotel and Ben was talking a shower.

"Kelli, what were you going to say about that boy back there?"

Kelli froze and turned to look at me with wide eyes.

"Spill Kel!"

She sighed and started talking.
