Chapter 8

We reached the grocery store in about 10 min.

Once we entered we both got a cart and I told Ben that I would get the chips and cookies while he would get the drinks.

The whole aisle was filled with different types of chips and cookies and candies. Just by looking at them made my mouth water.

I started grabbing my favourite chips, cookies, and candies. Then I realized that I didn't know what everyone else wanted.

I took out my walkie talkie that Val had given everyone and pressed the button.

"Hello?" I called to them.

A chorus of hellos came back to me and a "from the other side" too. Everyone laughed.

"So what did you guys want to eat?" I asked.

Everyone started answering all at the same time so I had to tell them to talk one at a time.

Once I finished taking everyone's orders and got everything in the cart, Val told everyone that we can get whatever else we wanted to with the credit card.

I smiled and turned around. I came face to face with........... "Randy?" I asked.

He smirked.

"Maya, what a nice surprise!" He smiled.

"Um ya it's really nice to see you again." I smiled.

Randy was my best friend but he had to move somewhere. I still remember the last day I had seen him. He was going to ask me something. I was hoping that he would ask me out but a guy like him would never like a girl like me. He was the schools bad boy and the most popular guy in school. But now I just don't like like him anymore and whenever I think about us together, it just doesn't seem right, it feels off like I'm not supposed to be with him.

"Look, the last time I saw you, I was going to ask you if you wanted to be my girlfriend." He started walking towards me.

Oh no! This might have been the best thing to hear when I was still living back home but now, no way!!! I started to panic and said "I already have a boyfriend!" I blurted out.

"Oh really? Then who is it? I want to meet him." He challenged taking another step toward me.

"His name is Ben and in fact he's here with me." I said before I could stop myself.

I just want him to go. I really don't want to talk to him right now.

"Why do I feel like your lying?" He smirked that annoying smirk again. He just doesn't look good while smirking anymore but Ben on the hand, his smirk is just- wait no I shouldn't be thinking this! I don't like him! Do I? No! I don't!

Suddenly I saw Ben walk by and I called him. When he saw that I was with someone, his jaw set and I saw his fists were balled up.

"This is my uh boyfriend. Well now you met him so you can go and we also have to get going." I grabbed Bens hand, ran to the counter and got the things checked out and left.

Once we were at the car, Ben spun me around and trapped me in between him and the car. My heart race sand I could feel his beating just as fast.

"What was that about?" He asked me in a cold tone.

"I-I am so-so-sorry. He wouldn't leave me alone an-an-and so I ma-made up that li-lie cause I pa-pa-panicked." I stuttered tears threatening to fall out.

"Don't ever call me your boyfriend ever again cause I would never date someone like you!" He shouted at me and then took the keys and started the car. I sat in the seat as a tears fell out.
