Act I scene 1

(As the audience walks in they see a living room set up as any other living room is ever set up. A couch is diagonal to the right hand corner and a table with a lamp is set up to the left of the

couch. A desk is diagonal to the left hand corner of the stage with a chair in front and in back of it. There is a phone on the desk. When the lights come down the characters walk on stage into places. The lights come up and the play begins.)

Daimon: I am glad that I came over today .

Leonora: I am too. (Daimon clutches Leonora's hand.)

Daimon: You seem happy today . (She caresses her friend's hand.) Leonora: I am. I have a great friend and a wonderful sister.

Daimon: Oh yes. (She takes her hand away from Leonora and turns to look at Zoe . ) Zoe is the light of your life.

Leonora: Of course, she's my sister. Daimon: Is that all?

Leonora: What did you say?

Daimon: Oh nothing Iwas just saying how grateful it is to have a sister like Zoe .

Zoe : (She sits up.) As I sit here, sowing my blood through the cracks of the wall. I wait in content for a rose to bloom in my face. {She lies back down.)

Daimon: Leonora?! Leonora: What?

Zoe : I wait for a better taste of a mushroom on a lily pad in the middle of the desert. Daimon: What is she saying?

Leonora: She is saying what she usually says. You know my sister. She says what she wants . Daimon: Well what she is saying is scaring the shit out of me!
