Act I scene 3

(Jiles comes in and sits at his chair. Rosa walks in and sits down. The lights come up.) Jiles: So ya think Daimon Topes has a case?

Rosa: I don't know? May be she does and may be she doesn't. It would be nice if we could get those Marney sisters after all this time.

Jiles: It would be nice. I believe she has a case.

Rosa: What about the tapes? You know and I know that last tape was tampered with . Jiles: And?!

Rosa: And? Do you want to go to jail if anyone finds out. Jiles: No one will find out! And I don't care anyway !

Rosa: Now that's settled. You have to decide whether to take the case or not.

Jiles: I have decided to take it. I had a meeting with Daimon Topes and we ironed out all the details.

Rosa: I can't believe your taking this outrageous case, but I'll help.

Jiles: You'll help because you want those Marney sisters to pay for what they did to my parents. Rosa: They stripped your father of everything he had and everything he worked for.

Jiles: That's right and I'm finally going to make them pay. I think it's my god given right. This case is for my father and by god I'm gonna show this town that he is still number one.

Rosa: That's what I wanted to hear. With that ambition of your's and my connections Daimon has a very powerful case.

Jiles: So you're going to help me on this one?

Rosa: Of course. No matter if this gets to court or not. I'll be there in spirit. I'll give you all the information that you need.

Jiles: Good.

Rosa: (She stands up.) I have to leave.

Jiles: (He stands up and kisses her over the desk.) Okay . I'll see you later. (She nods and leaves. He sits back down and the light is focused on his face.) I cannot explain why Iwant revenge on the Marney sisters but I know why . I just do. It has become almost instinctual for me and now I have a chance to strike. Iwant this more than anything I have ever wanted in my life. I believe that I have the right to destroy what is left of the Marney family . With the information that Daimon has given me I will have my way after so many years. I will show everyone how much of a ruthless bastard Jiles Course can be.
