Neveah was just getting ready for bed when her cell phone rung. She hopped in bed and took the phone of its charger, smiling when she looked at the caller id. When she heard his voice, her heart began to beat a mile a minute. It was amazing how her stomach still got butterflies every time he Phillip called her at night since he left for Tokyo. He claimed that at night was the best time because he wanted to hear about her day.
“Hello beautiful,” Phillip voice said softly into the phone.
Neveah smiled brightly. “Hi Phillip,” she answered, “ hows Tokyo?”
“It’s nothing if your not here with me,” he confided. “I miss you.”
“I miss you too it feels kinda odd being here without you. "
"Really, what about Rory? Are you and my mother not getting along well?", Phillip asked surprised by her response.
"Well Rory is busy wrapped up in the games you bought him before you left. But about your mother-." Phillip could tell it what something wrong by the hesitance Neveah gave.
"Nev, what's wrong? Is everything alright." Phillip asked with urgency thinking the worse.
"Well Phillip, I don't how to say this but to go straight to the point. Your mother's a bitch I mean a grade A level bitch. " there was silence after Neveah said that and she was nervous that Phillip would be mad. “I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t have said that!”
“No!” His voice was deep and stern. “Nev you have nothing to apologize. I should have known through experience what my mother is capable of. What she say to you?”
“Its ok Phill-”
“Nev,” Phillip warned.
This was what he was afraid of. Leaving his mother in the same house with the women that he was trying to build a future with. He made the mistake before and he should have seen it coming. He didn’t want his mother to brainwash Neveah. It was clear, now that they were talking on the phone, she had taken some steps back. It took Phillip a while to get Neveah to speak her mind and not be afraid to tell him the truth. Having to raise his voice wasn’t what he wanted to do but he had to nip it in the butt.
Getting on his iPad, Phillip checked the airlines for flights that were available in a hour. He was determined to fly back to Chicago and kick his mother out of their house. She was the problem and she just had to go.
Neveah sighed. “For the lack of better words, your mother just called me a fat slut who was just waiting to get my hands on your money.”
“What?!” Phillip shouted, causing Neveah to move the phone away from her ear. “Neveah don’t believe a word that she said. Shit! You're beautiful and sexy. You're not a slut and I know for a fact that you are the only women that doesn’t love me for my money. You love me because my actions towards you.”
