The one thing that she couldn't do at the moment was control her right leg from bouncing up and down rapidly. Hunched over with her elbows on her knees, she had her hands covering the top of her eyes while looking down on the floor.
"Nev, please talk to me," Phillip practically begged.
Talk?
To whom? Because she didn't even want to see his face at this point in time. She was cool when she excuse herself from the group and told Phillip to handle his business but she couldn’t stop the feelings she felt from within. Her blood was still boiling and she thought that her teeth was going to shatter because of her clenched chin.
All she asked for was a couple of minutes to herself and he couldn't even give her that. After a couple of minutes he storm in their bedroom and continued to demand her to talk to her.
“What do you want me to say? Huh?” Neveah said defeatedly.
“I don’t want you to start closing me off when we have arguments,” he told her. “I want you to tell me how you feel.”
Neveah thought she heard wrong which causing her to finally look up at him. “Argument? Tell you how I feel?” She asked in disbelief. “Your mother and alleged fiance coming here and starting drama isn’t an argument. It’s exactly what it is Phillip- drama! Do you really want to know how I feel? Are you sure because I swear I don’t think you want to know how I truly feel.
“Neveah I want you to always be comfortable with me,” Phillip said softly.
Neveah looked away from him. "I finally think I have some consistency in my life for me and Rory. All this that's happening with your mother and your fiance. I can't," she whispered.
"Whoa wait Nev-"
"I dropped everything in a short amount of time to be here with you," she ranted. "I mean of course I didn't have an apartment or a job but I opened up to you, I trusted you and most importantly I put my heart on the line."
At this point, Neveah was finally saying how she felt without realizing that she was telling Phillip. "This always happens to me! I trust and love someone and I always get the short end of the stick," she said to herself.
"Y-you love me?" Phillip asked, stumbling over his words
“Does it matter?” She questioned. “Is that all you got out of everything I just said. You're engaged to be married and you didn’t think to let me know. Instead you let me and my son get comfortable with you and in a home that we don’t belong in.”
