It was evident on her face that he had hurt her. That was the last thing he wanted to do, which was cause pain to her.
"I'm sorry Neveah," he apologized.
Neveah looked at him and walked away shaking her head , she didn't want to hear apologies. He didn’t tell her for a reason. Whatever that may be, it was clear he didn’t want her to know. Would he have told if Stephan was a good friend and kept his secret
“I honestly don’t know what to say,” she said.
“I was going to tell you,” he announced.
“When!?” She shouted. “When I was pregnant and barefooted, walking around the house or when we got married?”
“Nev-”
“Is it true?” She asked. “Wait until I fall in love with you and dump me.”
“Dammit Nev, you're smart enough to not believe that bullshit from him,” Phillip stated. “I love you.”
“I can’t even look at you right now,” Neveah stated, going behind her desk and reaching for her purse.
Phillip’s heart began to beat quickly. He didn’t want her to leave when she was upset with him. Not knowing if she was leaving to have a moment to herself or leaving for good weighed heavily on his mind.
Neveah turned her back and left the office with Phillip and Stephan still standing there. Stephan with a smirk of success on his face. Phillip glared at Stephan like he could kill him. If it wasn't against the law he would. If his eyes could kill, Stephan would be going up in flames by now
“You trifling as fuck for doing that nigga," Phillip shouted. “Thought you was my fucking boy bruh.”
Phillip was so pissed off that his professional side quickly died away and his hood side took over. The thing about Phillip was he was one of those men who were silent but could become the deadly type when ever pushed over a bridge. Stephan who knew Phillip like the back of his hand knew this.
“She needed to know the truth,” Stephan shrugged his shoulders.
“And it wasn’t your place to tell her,” Phillip barked. “That’s my girlfriend. I make the decisions to tell her something like that and as my boy you suppose to have my back.”
Stephan laughed. “Come on man, she’s just pussy,” Stephan commented. “You can get another girl fast, but right now we have to take care of some business.”
When Stephan motioned for Phillip to follow him, his feet were bolted to the floor. He wasn’t going anywhere with the man who probably cost him his family. All he wanted to do was punch him in the face one good time and maybe that would stop the pain he felt when Neveah walked out the door. It felt like she was walking out on him and their relationship and since he had no clue, the feeling was worst.
“No,” Phillip snapped. “We have no business to take care of because you’re fired!”
Stephan turned around on his heels. “Yeah, right,” he laughed. “Come on lets just discuss this over drinks tonig-”
Phillip shook his head. “Pack up your shit and leave the premises or I’ll call security,” he warned.
“Phillip-”
“You’re fired!” Phillip screamed.
“I have a good percentage in this company!” Stephan. barked, walking up on Phillip.
"I have sixty percent into this company and you have forty," Phillip reminded him. "You do the math.
Stephan shook his head. “Just because some girl got you drowning in her pussy?”He asked in disbelief.
