Frustrated and tired but also hungry she decided to take Naomi up on her offer so she went to her job to see if she wanted to do lunch.

Naomi worked for a multi-million dollar corporation as an assistant. She walked into the building and got into the elevator and pushed the second to the last floor. At one point when she visited Naomi before she had asked if she was an executives assistant why wasn't she one the last floor. Naomi had proceeded to tell her that all the executives were on the second to the last floor and the top floor was reserved for the CEO and boardrooms for important meetings.

As Neveah entered the floor and asked the floor receptionist was Naomi available.

“ Hi is Naomi available?"  Neveah ask in the sweetest voice

" Hello , I can check for you. Your name?" The receptionist answered.

"Yes my name is Neveah Car- " Neveah stop in the middle of saying her name when she heard a voice that distinctively sounded like her bestfriend calling her name.

Neveah turned around and saw Naomi walking up to her. She enveloped her in a hug and sighed.

"What's wrong Chica?" Naomi asked.

"No luck," Neveah said, sounding very exhausted.

Of course she was tired. It was one thing to be out all day job searching none stop, but to not nowhere was exhausting. She want to just quit and forget about everything but the fact that she had her son to take care of pushed her even more. Since it seemed like his father wasn’t going to help out, then Neveah would have to be the mother and the father for Rory. So now, she would just have to go back to job hunting bright and early tomorrow morning and just suck it up.

“I’m so sorry Nev,” Naomi whispered. “I wish there was some-” She stopped in mid-sentence and looked at Neveah with wide eyes. “Of course there’s something I can do.” Going to her desk, she reached into her bag to get something. Naomi  came back to her friend and Neveah saw her take out her checkbook from her wallet and wrote a check. She gave her the check and Neveah almost had a heart attack.

“Whoa!” Neveah exclaimed. “ I can’t take this. This is too much.”

Even though she needed the money really bad she could never take the money Naomi just gave her. She didn't want to take the money for several reasons. Number one she felt like if she took it she would be taking advantage of their friendship and second, because she didn't want to ever be anybody’s charity case. Of course, she knew those were bullshit reasons but still she felt like she had to be strong and independent, she vowed no matter how many statistics she had already fallen in she would be damned if she fell into another one, if she had anything to say about it.

Naomi looked at her bestfriend since what she would consider forever , her sister , she knew this was going to happen. Neveah was too stubborn for it not to happen. If you thought a maul was stubborn you definitely hadn't met Neveah.

Naomi sighed. “Look Nev just take it! I know what you're thinking and don't think about it like that,” she explained. “We’re sisters and we been through everything together, so its just a sister helping a sister out. and if it make you feel any better you can pay me back.” Naomi told her knowing that she wouldn’t dare take any of Neveah’s money, but if it made her feel better she’ll put it out there.

“Fine I'll take the check,” Neveah agreed. “But you know i’m going to pay you back, thank so much Nai.”

Neveah took the check reluctantly, but was very grateful she had a bestfriend and sister in Naomi. Plus she was a good aunt to Rory.
