Team Effort - Part One

Around five o'clock that night Elena caught up Jenny about their uncle Jesse and his connection to their father and mother while on the way to the duel field. They loaded up their decks into their duel disks and they were ready to go. Jenny played with her brown chocolate hair on the way there and took it our of a ponytail and let it all hang like her sister.

"Looks better that way, even though yours is a little shorter than mine. Ha." Elena says.

They made it to the duel field and saw Jesse ready on the field with his duel disk turned on and his deck was loaded up.

DUEL POV

Jesse: You guys ready? (4000 LP)

Elena: I am. (4000 LP)

Jenny: I am too. (4000 LP)

All: Duel!

Jenny: I will start. (Draw) I summon Ice Pixie in defense mode! (Def: 300) I then end my turn with two facedowns.

Jesse: (Draw) I summon Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth! (Atk: 1700)

Elena: Wow, the Crystal Beasts that dad described. They're beautiful.

Jesse: Attack Jenny's Ice Pixie!

Jenny: Agh. I activate my continuous spell Cold Front. This activates once a Water attribute monster on my field is destroyed. From now on every time one of my Water attribute monsters are destroyed this card gains a Frost Counter and I can cash in Frost Counters later on for things to help me out later. Since you destroyed my Pixie that's one counter. (F.C. (Frost Counters): 1) Then Ice Pixie's ability activates once it is destroyed in battle. Now I can summon as many Ice Pixies from my deck to my field as possible. I got two more! (Def: 300 - X2)

Jesse: Not too bad. I set three cards facedowns.

Elena: A lot of precautions he has set up, better be careful. (Draw) I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman in attack mode! (Atk: 1600) Now I equip him with Spark Blaster and I will use it to put your Mammoth in defense mode!

Jesse: (Def: 1200)

Elena: Now Sparkman will attack your Mammoth!

Jesse: Not too bad of a shot. When a crystal beast is destroyed, It goes to my spell/trap zone.

Elena: I end with a facedown.

Jenny: Time to step up! (Draw) I tribute my two Ice Pixies to summon my Ice Mage! (Atk: 1000)

Jesse: Only 1000 attack points?!

Jenny: His ability makes it worth it. But first he will attack you directly!

Jesse: (3000 LP)

Jenny: One effect of Ice Mage now activates. Once I deal battle damage to a player I gain LP equal to whatever I inflicted. (5000 LP)

Elena: Nice! (Throws a thumbs up)

Jesse: (Draw) I activate my facedown spell Crystal Beacon! I can now send two crystal beasts to my graveyard, Ruby Carbuncle and Topaz Tiger, and I can summon two Crystals from my deck. But since my spell is gone Ruby and Topaz are in the spell zone with Amber Mammoth chilling out for a sec.

Elena: His trap zones are filled. Two facedowns and three of those crystal beasts.

Jesse: I summon Crystal Beasts Sapphire Pegasus and Cobalt Eagle. (Atk: 1800) (Atk: 1400) My Pegasus will destroy Sparkman!

Elena: Agh! (3800 LP)

Jesse: Now Cobalt Eagle will attack you directly Elena!

Elena: I activate A Hero Emerges! Now you choose a card in my hand at random and If it's a monster I get to summon it!

Jesse: Far left.

Elena: Nice pick, for me. I summon Elemental Hero Clayman in defense! (Def: 2000) (Whispers) Thanks for saving my butt Clayman.

Jesse: I end my turn.

Elena: Then here I go! (Draw) I set a facedown. Then I activate the spell Hero's Art! I can sacrifice my Elemental Clayman and now I can trade him in for any other Hero from my deck! I summon Elemental Hero Bladedge! (Atk: 2600) Now I play from my hand Polymerization! I fuse my Bladedge with Wildheart in my hand! I fusion summon Elemental Hero Wildedge! And my Wildedge can attack all monsters on your field! GO!

Jesse: I activate Rainbow Guard! I cannot take any damage until my next turn but my monsters are still destroyed. Then I activate Crystal tribute! Now I send Ruby Carbuncle and another Crystal beast from the trap zone and send them to the graveyard and now I can summon my last two beasts Amethyst Cat and Emerald Turtle. (Atk: 1200) (Def:2000)

Elena: Hm. I end my turn.

Jenny: (Draw) I switch my Ice Mage to defense mode. (Def: 0) And I throw a facedown.

Elena: That's your turn?

Jenny: I don't need a fusion monster to win a duel Ellie. Relax, I know what I'm doing. (5000 LP)

Elena: Whatever. (3800 LP)

Jesse: (3000 LP) Back to the duel. (Draw) The effect of Rainbow Guard is now inactive. But by sending all the Crystal Beasts on my field to the graveyard I can summon my Rainbow Dragon! (Atk: 4000)

Jenny: No way.

Elena: Dad talked about this dragon in one of his stories.

Jesse: Stories? Well here you go! Rainbow Dragon attack Wildedge!

Elena: Agh! (2400 LP)

Jesse: I end with a facedown.

Elena: This dragon will be trouble Jenny.

Jenny: Indeed. For the both of us.
