•Ethan's Pov• I have never been so happy in my life. Me and Serene moved into an apartment together with Grayson in Los Angeles. It's better for all of our careers. Serene killed it at the Victoria's Secret show, and is still an amazing model. Me and Gray got a movie contract, we are playing twins, how original.
A few days ago I bought a promise ring for Serene. I really love her, and tonight I'm going to give it to her. I heard Serene coming down the stairs so I hid the ring and pretended to read a magazine.
"Hey babe." She said laying next to me on the couch smiling.
"Hey cutie, watcha up to?" I asked.
"I could ask you the same." She said laughing.
"Hey how about me and you go to a fancy dinner tonight?" I suggested.
"Yeah, that's sounds like fun!" She said excited.
Soon a sad Grayson came down the stairs.
"What are you smiling about?" He asked Serene coldly.
"Nothing much." She replied still flashing her toothy smile.
"Gray leave her alone, I'm sorry you had to leave Raya in New Jersey, but don't make everybody else sulk with you." I said standing up for Serene.
"Whatever, I'm leaving." He said grabbing the keys.
"Ok bye! Make good choices!" Serene yelled after him.
"Do me a favor, and shut up." He snapped not turning around.
The door slammed and Serene looked sad and defeated.
"Aww babe don't worry about him, he's just upset." I whispered to her as I cuddled her.
"I know, but you guys are so god damn moody." She said giggling.
"How do you do it?" I asked sarcastically.
"I do it, because I love you guys." She replied.
"Not as much as we love you." I told her.
We just laid on the couch for what felt like forever, just enjoying each others company.
•Serene's Pov• I was very excited to go out tonight. By the time I got off the couch I checked the clock and it was 7:30. Our reservations were at 8:15. I was very worried about Grayson not coming home yet.
I went upstairs to get ready. I hopped in the shower and thoroughly washed my hair. When I got out I dried my hair and straightened it. I put some makeup on and got dressed.

I walked downstairs and Ethan was waiting for me in a nice blazer and jeans.
"Wow, you look beautiful." Ethan said in awe.
"Ehh I guess you look presentable." I said as I walked out the door.
Skip the car ride
We got to this really nice pizza place in Hollywood, and got seated. A tall bruinette waiter came walking towards our table.
"Hey what can I get you guys to drink?" He said winking at me.
I could feel Ethan tense up.
"Just a water please." I answered
"Same for me." Ethan replied.
"I'll get those started for you." He said walking away.
As he walked away, Ethan seemed to cool off.
Towards the end of our meal, Ethan interrupted our conversation.
"Serene, we are way too young to get married, but I am in love with you. You've stood by me for almost 20 years. Will you accept this promise ring, until I can replace it with a real one?" He asked opening the ring box.
"Of course Ethan." I said with tears in my eyes.
I walked around the table and put the ring on my finger. Ethan grabbed my cheeks with his hands and passionately kissed me.
We finished our meal, payed, and got our car. The whole way home we were just talking about old memories we had.
Like the time we went to Palm Springs and would run away from the ducks. Or the time we got kicked out of a restaurant for laughing too loudly.
When we got home, we walked to our front door and saw that the lights were on. Yes, Grayson was home. We walked in and saw Grayson with a tear stained face on the couch.
"Grayson I'm so sorry about Raya." I said walking over and sitting next to him.
"It's not her...its, its Ka-Kayden." He said in between cries.
"What about him?" Ethan asked worried.
"Mom called, he was d-diagnosed with s-stage 3 c-cancer." He expressed fully breaking down.
I immediately broke down into tears. Ethan just walked upstairs and slammed the door.
A few moments later, the door swung open again. Ethan walked down the stairs and opened the front door.
"ETHAN WAIT!" I screamed.
It was too late, he didn't hear me. Everything was just built up again only to be torn apart...
