chapter eight

•Ethan's Pov•

"Kayden why did this happen to you?" I asked him.

"I don't know, but I will get through it." He replied.

"Can you promise me one thing?"  Kayden asked.

"Anything." I answered

"Keep Serene safe and happy, I know she's your girlfriend, but the rest of us care too."  Kayden requested.

"Forever and always."  I told Kayden.

With that he closed his eyes, and became motionless. 

"Kayden?" I asked.

I heard his heart rate escalating.

"Kayden?!"  I almost yelled.

And suddenly his heart beat was one, straight line.

"KAYDEN!!  KAYDEN COME BACK!"  I screamed.

I was pulled away from doctors until I wa-

I woke up to Serene shaking me.  The whole plane was looking at me.  Oh my god.  It was just a dream. 

"Babe what's wrong?"  Serene asked putting her head on my shoulder and grabbing my hand.

"It was just a bad dream."  I told her.

"Ok well we are landing in 10 minutes, so don't fall asleep again."  She informed me.

"Ok."  I answered giving her a quick peck.

About 15 minutes later, we landed.  As we walked off the plane, we were swarmed with fans. 

Our fans are the best thing in the world.  We can't upset them.  We took pictures with all of them, and were on our way.  After we got our luggage, we waited outside and saw Jake and Jackson standing there with Jake's car.

"JAKE!  JACKSON!"  Serene yelled jumping into Jake's arms.

"Serene I missed you guys so much."  Jake said picking her up.

I walked over there and smiled at Jackson and gave him a hug.  I walked over to Jake and gave him a stare.

"Girlfriend bro." I said.

With that he immediately dropped Serene and said, "sorry."

Serene just kept laughing.  We piled into the car. All of a sudden the laughing died down and everybody was silent.

"So how's he doing?" Gray asked with a shaky voice.

"Not to good bud." Jackson said turning around to face him.

"Is he going to be ok?" Serene chimed in.

"We don't really know." Jake replied.

"Jake I'm so sorry, I know how hard this must be for you." Serene comforted.

"Thank you, I'm glad all of you are here to help. By the way, Kayden doesn't know you guys are coming, I want to see his reaction when he sees you guys." Jake added.

"Then let's get to the hospital." I abruptly suggested.

•Serene's Pov•
i am not going to lie, I am a bit nervous to see Kayden. I've never known anybody with cancer. You think it could never happen to someone that's close to you, until it does.

About 30 minutes later, we pulled up to the parking lot. Ethan grabbed my hand as I tensed up.

"It's ok, he's going to be ok." Ethan whispered to me as he kissed my cheek.

We walked into the hospital, and as we walked in my grip on his hand tightened.

"Serene?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Can you not grip my hand so much, I feel like I'm losing circulation?" He nervously requested.

"Oh my god yeah, I'm sorry!" I freaked out.

"Don't worry about it." He reassured me and put his hand around my waist as we walked towards Kayden's room.

We stopped in front of the room.

"Here we are!" Jake announced.

Me, Ethan, and Grayson walked into the room. Kayden had his back facing us.

"Nurse, I don't need more medication!" He almost yelled.

"Ok fine, i guess we have to go Serene!" Ethan said laughing.

"Yeah Serene leave...WAIT SERENE?!" Kayden yelled turning around quickly.

"ETHAN, GRAY, SERENE! YOU'RE BACK!" Kayden screamed.

Tears formed in my eyes, as I ran over to hug him.

"Kayden I missed you so much. We came as soon as we found out!" I said crying.

"Serene you really didn't have too.  I'm fine."  Kayden said.

"Fine?!  Are you crazy?! I had to come here!"  Grayson said.

We all sat down and talked for awhile.  We shared some of the memories we all had from awhile ago.  Until Ethan interrupted.

"Kayden...are you like-gonna be ok?"  Ethan asked.

"Ethan you can't ask that!"  I scolded.

"No Serene its fine...Ethan to be honest, I don't know.  I hope so."  Kayden answered.

45 minutes later the nurse told us that visiting hours were over.  We said our goodbyes and left. 

As we were all walking back to the car, Jake stopped.

"Um...I have an arrend to run, I'll catch up with you guys later."  Jake said walking the other direction.

"Um ok, do you want us to come?"  I asked.

"No Serene, I'm fine!"  Jake said coldly.

We walked back to the car.  I hope Jake will be ok...
