It was finally a day where Luke was sober for Ashton. Ashton woke up and saw Luke sleeping soundly. He smiled and cuddled to him.

It felt nice to have a sober Luke around. That means he could talk to him normally and not have to worry if he's okay. He always does, but not constantly having to check up on him and making sure he isn't dying or something.

A few minutes passed and Ashton saw Luke's eyes flutter open. He smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Good morning Lukey." Ashton giggled.

"Morning, love." Luke says with a groggy voice.

"Are you okay?" Ashton asks before getting too excited.

"Yeah, I didn't drink last night." Luke presses a kiss on his cheek.

"Good, come on. I'll make breakfast."

"But I just woke up, can we stay in bed for a little longer?" Luke puts his arm over his face.

"Fine, I'll make breakfast and you could stay in bed a little longer."

"Okay."

-

Ashton had made pancakes and eggs. He was sitting in an awkward silence with Luke. The sound of forks hitting The plate was the only thing heard. Ashton cleared his throat and spoke,"Luke can we talk about something?"

"Sure. What is it?" Luke looked up.

"U-Um, can you....please, try to lower your drinking. You can get really sick. Please, I don't want you getting ill over drinking too much alcohol."

"I'm sorry ash. I can't just stop drinking out of nowhere. It's an addiction to me."

"I know, Luke. But try drinking one bottle less each time you drink. I know you go out every night I'm sleeping, to get alcohol. I know you try drinking behind my back."

"I'm sorry- I - I just don't know what to do. Is there anything I do that bothers you when I'm drunk?"

"Well....I'm tired of you asking me to do sexual favors for you. Or you breaking beer bottles or other things. And most of all, I don't know what it's like to have you be sober."

"I ask you for sexual favors? Do you stop me?" Luke's head darted up.

"Well, no-"

"Why? You can always stop me."

"No, you kind of push me in a corner and stand there until I do it." Ashton looks down in embarrassment.

"Ugh, I feel so bad now. I wish I could stop doing such things to you."

"And I wish you stop drinking, so you stop doing those things."

"I know I'm sorry-"

"Sorry isn't going to fix things Luke. You need to do something about it, not keep on apologizing."

"I know, can you help? You're a big motivation for me."

"No I'm not. You can't rely on me to watch your drinking. I won't be there all the time to make sure you're not drunk, Luke you need to watch yourself."

"I know, I just......I need some help."

"Okay, I'll try to start you off. But then you need to stay away from alcohol. Just think, every time you drink, you kill me or anyone you care about."

"But, how? I know it won't kill you."

"But you're killing yourself. You could, and I don't want to lose you because you overdosed on alcohol, or something."

"I-  I'll try, to stop. Please help me."

"Alright." Ashton gets up and puts his plate in the sink. He goes to the refrigerator and digs through the things and finds a pack of beers and half full ones. He grabs them and throws them out.

"Hey, why did you throw them out?" Luke followed Ashton outside.

"Because. You don't need them." Ashton lightly pushed Luke out of his way and went inside. Luke followed him and ended up in the kitchen again. Ashton opened the fridge and showed a full beer sitting alone.

Luke went to grab it, and Ashton slapped his hand away.

"Luke, I'm leaving it there so you can stay away from it. If you get what I mean."

"No, I don't. Why would you throw out all of those other ones and leave that one?"

"Because, it's like giving you self-control. You have it, you just alcohol get to you. You put it in your body, and now you are going to help yourself stop. So, try finding something else to calm yourself."

"Like what? There's things that are way worse to release."

"I know. Why are you drinking?"

"....well, I found out that my mother has cancer. And....."

"Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that. But what else?"

"....." Luke looked down in guilt and fidgeted around.

"What? Tell me..."

Luke took a deep breath before saying,"I found razors in the drawer. I'm not sure if....they belong to you. I-It- just stresses me out...."

Ashton's face went pale.

"They do, don't they? God, Ashton- I- why?" Luke snatched Ashton's arm and raised his sleeve. Luke gasped and Ashton snatched his arm back, tears brimming in his eyes.

"O-Oh God, p-please- you must hate me now..."

"N-No. Of course not. Ash, I love you."

"I-I love you too. But this isn't okay."

"What isn't okay?" Luke was full of concern.

"Me. You. Us. You're an alcoholic, I self harm."

"Yeah, but what are you trying to say?"

"....I think we should move on. I'll try getting a job and I'll buy an apartment. We can't keep living like this forever."

"What? Ashton, you can't just leave. Ash i love you way too much to let you go. Please, I'll try to quit drinking. Just please don't go."

"Luke, you have to promise me that you'll try because I feel like I'm being held captive. I want to feel free, but you being drunk and needing my help constantly, is making me depressed."

"I'm sorry, ash. I'll try."

"Thank you."

The two hug and let each other heal, slowly.
