“Excuse me?” Mum said her mouth dropping open slightly.
“I’m going out with Cody. I will be back later tonight.” I said slowly.
“You can wait missy. You are not walking around LA looking like that. You will be kidnapped for sure.” I looked down at my outfit, it was a pair of jeans and a low cut black crop top with a light yellow tank top tucked into my jeans under it.
“I look great.” I said.
“If you want to go out tonight you will march your butt upstairs and change.” I rolled my eyes and did as I was told. Mum passed me a briefcase to carry upstairs. I opened our room door and dropped the briefcase on the floor.
I flipped open one of my suitcases and searched for a cute outfit that won’t get me kidnapped. “How about this?” I held up a shirt that was kind of wild and I forgot why I bought it.
“Ivy George! Have I taught you nothing? I hope you still have the receipt for that shirt because it is going back.” I chuckled and threw it back in my already messy suitcase.
Mum gently pushed me out of way and riffled through my bag. She pulled out a short black sweater; it had an oversized hood on the back. There was a big pocket on the front that had a crazy tribal print. “Put this over that.” Mum pointed to my tank top. I pulled off my shirt and pulled on the sweater.
I moved in front of the mirror and ruffled my hair. I wish it wasn’t so boring. Just straight all the time. I fixed my make-up and smiled, I guess I looked all right. I pushed my phone in my pocket and grabbed $40 and folded and it put it in my pocket as well. I kissed Mum’s cheek and ran from the room.
In the elevator I checked the time. Shit I was already late. The elevator doors slid open and I jogged out of the hotel and into the cool night air.
My phone started to ring. I pulled it out and checked the caller ID, Cody the sexy Aussie was written across my screen.
“Hey.” I said begging to walk towards the restaurant.
“Are you standing me up?” Cody asked I could hear the noise of a street and restaurant in the back ground.
“No I’m coming. Mum held me up.” I explained.
“Where are you? I will start walking towards you.”
I told Cody where I was. “Alright I will see you in a minute.” I said going to hang up.
“Wait Ivy. Just to give you a heads up I have Alli and one other person here with me.” Cody said. My heart stopped.
“Who else?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Cody who is it?”
“You will see.”
“I hate you.” I growled with a smile spreading across my face.
“Hey watch where you’re going!” a guy yelled at me as I stepped on his large feet.
I stuck my tongue out at him. “You could always watch where you are going.” I yelled back.
“Who was that?” Cody asked.
“Some jackass.”
“Oh you sound like friends.” He said, even though we were on the phone I could tell he was smiling.
“Haha. I think I am lost. I don’t see you and you said it would only be a minute walk.” I searched the busy street for a blond boy.
“Keep looking.” He said.
