Ch.4 cheer tryouts

Today is the day! The day I tryout for cheer team at Lakewood! I'm excited yet nervous, because this is my entire life and if I don't make the team I will officially hate California.

"Kass, Maddie is here" Josh called out.

"Okay, I'm coming"

I grabbed my phone, keys, and my cheer bag.

"Let's do this" I gave myself a pep talk.

When I walked downstairs, I see Maddie talking to Ethan as if he were Beyonce. She is so struck that she cannot even form a coherent sentence. I'm still pretty pissed about the other day when he made me and Josh walked a mile home from the yogurt place.

"Hey, Maddie" I give her a hug.

"Hey, babydoll" Ethan says to me. Maddie gives me a shocked look.

I continue walking and grab a water out if the fridge and a granola bar.

"Maddie are you ready" I ask.

"Actually, sweetheart your dad wanted me to bring you guys to the tryouts" he began smirking. I want to scream at him so bad, but I don't.

"Dad" I scream.

"He left for work" Josh says walking into the kitchen.

"Mom" I scream.

"She left for work also" Ethan said.

"How come I can't drive myself?" I ask Josh.

"Dad has the Mercedes, mom has the range rover, and the Lexus still didn't ship over yet"Josh says.

"Fine! Lets go" I say walking towards the door.

We got into the car and began to drive off.

"Oh wow, you're  going to drive instead of make us walk" I asked surprised.

"Haha very funny, you just seem jealous to me" Ethan says.

"I'm not jealous!" I scream "just mad you made me and my brother walk home just so you can hang out with Caitlin!" I say a little calmer.

"Wait, you guys hung out before today?" Maddie asked surprised.

"Yes, unfortunately" I say with an eye roll. "This is my neighbor."

"Wow and I'm not to happy about it either" Ethan says.

Finally the school comes into view. I rub my hands on my thighs nervously. This is either going to make me or break me. Ethan looks at me a little to long.

"What"? I ask.

"Nothing, just stop worrying so much" he says.

"I'll try" I get out the car with my bag and water. Maddie follows behind as we walk into the gym doors. When we walk in, there are twenty girls already stretching. I can see a girl who looks very familiar.
