"Haru," Rin reached out his hand to help Haru up.
Haru was hesitate. Rin's gesture reminded him of when Makoto use to pull him out of the water. Makoto... Haru cried to himself. What have I done? I shouldn't have said anything, this was all my fault.
Eventually Haru grabbed Rin's hand.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you, love," Rin kissed Haru on the forehead.
Rin only made it worse. Everything Rin did reminded Haru of Makoto. Haru lost Makoto. The real Makoto, at least. Makoto... he was the only person that understood me... Rin was surprised to see Haru crying on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry," Rin wiped off Haru's tears. "I promise I'll make you happy again."
Whatever. Rin's not Makoto. There's nothing Rin can do in his power that can make me happy. All I want is Makoto. All I need is Makoto.
Rin knocked on the front door. Immediately, the door flew open, and Sousuke tackled Rin. Haru watched the two lovebirds share a long, lingering kiss. He didn't mind Rin kissing Sousuke, but the gesture only reminded him even more of Makoto.
"Sousuke," Rin said, as the two finished kissing. "Is it alright for us to take in Haru?"
"What for?" Sousuke glared at the blue eyed boy. Haru could tell that Rin told him about their childhood crush.
"It's a very long story," Rin sighed. "Perhaps I can tell you as we eat breakfast?"
--
Sousuke jaw dropped as Rin finished the story.
"We don't know where Makoto is now," Rin explained, worriedly. "He could be watching us this very moment."
Makoto, if you're here, I just want to let you know that I'm sorry for ever enraging you. This is all my fault. Please please please turn back to normal. I loved you just the way you are.
"So can we keep him?" Rin pleaded.
"You make it sound like he's up for adoption," Sousuke scoffed.
"He is! He's technically homeless. Please?" Rin leaned over and kissed Sousuke on the lips "Please?"
"Fine," Sousuke blushed.
"Yay!" Rin hugged Haru.
Haru- who was still thinking about Makoto- was shocked when two arms embraced him. He looked up, seeing Sousuke's eyes flare with jealousy.
You don't need to be an expert to know that Sousuke's jealous, Haru thought to himself. It wasn't that hard to figure out Makoto was jealous too. My poor Makoto...
"I'm sorry," Rin apologized, seeing that Haru's face fell. He ran his hands through Haru's hair. "Does that make you feel better?"
No, it only makes me miss Makoto even more.
"Enough flirting," Sousuke got up. "It's a torture seeing you play around with your childhood crush."
"Will you stop," Rin was slightly angered. "Haru is traumatized. His boyfriend just turned evil, his two best friends died because of him! He's on the run, with the fear that Makoto would find and hurt him! At least show some respect and-"
Rin was cut off by Haru crying. Sousuke was slightly shocked; seeing Haru cry was like a once in a lifetime chance.
"How do I bring Makoto back?" Haru sobbed.
"Haruka," Rin tried to comfort Haru. "Please don't cry. Sousuke and I are here for you, right?"
Sousuke sighed. "Why not."
