Chapter 6- Replacement

Right when Makoto opened the door, he was hit in the face with a blackjack. Haru gasped as he watched Makoto fall to the floor, unconscious.

But I finally got on Makoto's good side... Oh whatever. I never did like the evil version of him.

But what really shocked Haru the most was who rescued him. There, standing in front of the door, was Sousuke Yamazaki. Haru backed away from the black-haired swimmer, horrifying memories rushed into his brain.

"W-Why are you-" Haru babbled.

"We don't have much time. Let's go before Makoto wakes up."

"You hit him with a blackjack."

"Not that hard," Sousuke scoffed. "Hurry up."

"Why are you saving me?"

"Because," Sousuke heaved a heavy sigh. "Rin's last words were: Please protect Haru for me. I love you."

"Told you so."

"Nanese, let's go."

"What if Makoto finds me again?"

"Look, it's either come with me and be safe or stay with Makoto and get tortured and abused."

Haru sighed and nodded his head, joining Sousuke.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Haru asked, as Sousuke drove him away. "How did you find me?"

"Easy. A couple went missing, and all the police officers that approached their house never returned back. Most people think this house is haunted. Who else would be crazy enough to go on a killing spree?"

"Makoto did that?" For me?

"I guess."

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Haru repeated.

"Rin was the only person I've ever truly loved. Since he's gone, I want to do everything that brings me as close to him as possible. He really looked up to you. So, I'd prefer us to be friends than enemies."

Haru nodded.

The rest of the ride to Sousuke's house was silent.

"Sousuke!" Gou exclaimed, giving him multiple kisses as the two came inside the house.

What is Gou doing with Sousuke? Is she a replacement for Rin? That's hilarious.... It better not be. Is she wearing sex clothes? Looks like something a stripper would wear. Haru analyzed Gou's sexual outfit.

"Oh Haru!" Gou waved.

Her eyes. They don't match her personality. Her eyes are so dull and gloomy. She's not as energetic as I remembered either.

"Gou, be a dear and cook lunch." Sousuke demanded.

"Anything for you, babe." Gou smiled, walking away.

Yep. Gou is definitely upset.

That night, Gou was making bed preparations. Sousuke dozed off in their room, so Haru felt like it was a good time to approach her.

"Gou?" Haru asked, scaring Gou.

"Oh, Haru, it's just you." Gou smiled. "I'm almost done with your sheets. Just a few more minutes..."

"Are you okay?"

"Are you kidding? I'm great! I have an amazing boyfriend, great life..."

"You look sad."

Gou laughed nervously. "Nah..."

"Is Sousuke abusing you?" Haru lowered his voice. "Your eyes...They're so gloomy."

Gou gave Haru a weak smile. "It's hard sometimes to have such a demanding boyfriend."

"Tell me about it."

Gou nodded her head and sighed exasperatedly.

"Gou...your clothes as well. They're..." Haru struggled to find the right word. "They show off too much."

"Oh this?" Gou gestured at her outfit. "Not really, compared to what Sousuke makes me wear. He allowed me to wear more clothes since we had a guest arriving."

"You're clothes are see through."

"Sousuke said I'm not allowed to wear bras. Too much of a hassle when we have sex."

"You guys have sex?"

Gou nodded, her eyes filled in pain.

"Does sex hurt?" Haru asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

Perhaps the more she talks the more I can figure out why Sousuke is being so nice to me. I still don't trust him. Not after he tried to kill me.

"Depends." Gou shivered. "During night is when he's most....active. I guess the pain just goes away after a while."

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine."

"So Sousuke does abuse you."

Gou nodded. "I wish I could get saved, like you did."

"Why don't you just run away?"

"Because Sousuke will find and kill me!"

"Aren't you better off dead?"

"If I die," Fear washed over Gou's body. "I don't even want to think about what would happen to you."

Haru gave Gou a questionable look.

"Y-You see, when Rin died, Sousuke was outraged. He was a mess. He said he would do anything in the world to make it seem like he had Rin again. What better way than to date his sister? I'm afraid that if I leave his side, he might become a killer of some sort."

Gou ran over to hug Haru. "Rin had always looked up to you, and so have I. If Sousuke loses his mind, he might kill you. Rin told me what happened between you and Haru. Rin's dead now. I want to continue to protect you, helping Rin beyond the grave."

Gou and Rin did so much to help me, Haru was crying on the inside. I wish I could do something to help them.

"Oh and," Gou leaned closer to Haru. "Rin would've wanted me to give you this."

Gou pressed her lips on Haru. Haru didn't feel the tingling sensation when Makoto kissed him. Perhaps it's because I don't love Gou? But that didn't matter, because Haru kissed her back. The two were interrupted when the door flung open.

"What are you two doing?" Sousuke grumpily questioned. "Gou, I thought you loved me."

"Oh uh," Gou pushed Haru away from her. "I just wanted- he just- Rin wanted me to kiss him."

"Don't you dare mention his name." Sousuke raged, pulling a gun out of his pocket.

I swear to god, it's like everybody has a weapon in their pocket these days.

"Sousuke-babe, I'm sorry." Gou pleaded for mercy.  "I promise-"

"I don't need promises from a cheater." Sousuke pulled the trigger.

A loud sound of a firing gun made Haru flinch. When he opened his eyes, Gou was leaning on the bed, dead. Haru watched as blood poured out of her mouth.  It didn't bother Haru, not anymore. He was so use to seeing everybody die that seeing another dead body didn't gross him out.

"And now," Sousuke pointed his gun at Haru.
