Chapter 20

(Third person PoV)

It had been almost two months since the battle with Nikaido.

Today was a Saturday and your mom had gone out, leaving you home alone. So you and Ikuto had made plans to have a movie night.

It was 3:47pm and Ikuto was coming at 7:30pm, so you decided to go to the park.

You walked down to the park a few blocks away from your house. There were a few children playing on the slides and see-saws, but the swing sets were completely empty so you decided to sit on the swings.

You watched as the children played together. You tried to imagine yourself playing with your friends like that, but your evil mother had never allowed you to go to the park. There wasn't really any point anyway, since you had no friends to play with.

'Jeez, what a depressing childhood.' You thought.

"Levi! Petra! Time to go home!" One of their mothers called.

"Aww." The girl pouted. She hugged a tree, "Bye mister tree!" She cheered before skipping over to her mother.

The boy, Levi, on the other hand trudged grumpily over to his friend. "Tch, weirdo." He grumbled under his breath. They walked away, disappearing around the corner.

You were now the only one in the park.

'I wonder what the time is...' You thought, realising you hadn't brought a phone with you. You closed your eyes and felt a cool breeze on your face. The rattle of someone sitting down on the swing next to you made you shoot your eyes open.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." Said the chestnut-haired boy now sitting on the swing beside you. "I'm Kukai Souma!" He smiled, his olive-green eyes shining brightly, "You looked a bit sad, so I thought you'd like some company."

You were still a bit startled by his sudden introduction but you managed a small smile, "I'm (f/n) (l/n). And I don't think I'm sad, I was just...deep in thought."

Kukai showed a relieved expression. "That's good then!"

I nodded, "Do you have the time?" I asked, suddenly remembering the plans I had with Ikuto.

Kukai pulled out his phone from his pocket and turned it on. "6:04pm." He said.

"Oh okay thanks. I should go now, it was nice meeting you." You smiled at my new friend.

"Same to you!" He said, "Before you go, maybe we could exchange numbers?"

"Sure," You smiled.

You typed yours on his phone, and Kukai handed you a slip on paper with his number on it.

(Your PoV)

I got home and went straight to my room and put Kukai's number in my phone, (which I had bought with my own money), before I forgot to.

Finally there was a knock on the door and I basically sprinted down stairs to open the it.

I opened it and was greeted by a warm hug. I could tell it was Ikuto, just by his scent.

"I've been waiting all day to hold you." He said and picked me up bridle style. Ikuto shut the door, locking it while holding me (what skill) and carried me to the sofa in my living room.

"Okay, what movie should we watch first!"
