Chapter Four: Recover Thy Kindred

The team travel to Asheiville, North Carolina. Bartman, Flash, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Artemis accompanied Miss Martian in her bio ship. Zatanna and Impulse followed with Superboy in his pet sphere. Blue Beetle flew beside the sphere relatively close to Impulse. (Because, they can't be separated.)

"Her-mano's!" Impulse is trying so hard to execute a Spanish accent.

"Mi amor?" Blue is testing his español.

"Ummm, I'm not sure what that means, 'ese'." Impulse giggled.

The sphere makes some of its strange alien machinery sounds that Superboy understands. "Sphere say's, it means, 'My love'."

"AHHH Blue!!! Mi amor you too." Impulse grinned at his partner gliding beside him.

"That does not make any sense, ese." Blue sighed.

"We're almost there, according to Zatanna's spell, Nightwing's location should be beyond that snowy mountain." Miss Martian communicated to everyone through her mind link.

"This place is familiar." Artemis blurts still communicating through the mind link.

"Yes, this is where your team obtained the nano circuitry from Cheshire." Batman paused before continued to scold. "Where this team walked into an ambush." Paused once more narrowing his eyes. "Where this team allowed the Justice League to fall under the control of Vandal Savage."

Everyone fell to silence from Batman's salt. Why was he talking out all the anger to the team?

Kid Flash sat beside beside the window behind most of his group in the Bio ship. He is anxious, scared, worried for Dick. He rapidly taps his foot on the floor, unaware of how his anxiety is annoying everyone around at the moment.

"Wally, we will find him. It's fine, Nightwing will be fine." Miss Martian spoke out.

Kid Flash finally notices his doing, and stops fidgeting. "I'm sorry, I am just really worried about him."

Batman looks at him blankly and turns away momentarily. He thinks to himself, "Is Wally the one for Dick? Is Wally really the one for my son?"

Miss Martian could help but listen to Batman's loud thoughts, she really couldn't help it. But this made her smile, and even more determined to assist in making things right.

The team finally glide over the snowy mountain and discover a ruin of stone just in range of their sight and a tall figure reaching with a point towards the sky.

"That must be it." Flash gasps.

"Why does it always have to be creepy, haunted looking brick buildings." Artemis complains.

The bioship and sphere land with the team members inside. As they alight, they study the fair distance between them tower. It was Batman's idea to do so in order to prevent them from being spotted.

"We stick together, no splitting up." Batman orders as he signals the team to move forward, slowly.

The team move slowly more within line of sight of the ruin, they discover a tall skinny tower and that it is surrounded by dead forest. Dark, black oaks with dead branches and wood covering the ground from where the trees themselves stand.

"The woods surround the stronghold. There is no other way past it." Flash state's out the obvious.

"I can fly there..." Blue put in but quickly shut down by Batman and Flash.

"You could get spotted and god knows what happens if you do."

Impulse nudged him and gave Blue a glare. "What's the matter ese?"
