For most, the week leading up to the Summer Time Bash had been about preparing for the event be it getting time off work, getting the right outfit or making sure that you were going with the right people in terms of social status. For the majority, the week had flown by and as the sun was setting over Domino City, most were on their way to the prestigious Kaiba Mansion...all except for Evangeline and her group of friends. For her, the week had crawled unbearably slow with still no word from Seto...but all of a sudden, there was a rush for time.
"Come on, Eva, it's time to go!" Teá called up the stairs, dressed in a yellow tank top and orange shorts.
"I-I don't think I can wear this..." She stammered, unused to wearing anything so fitting to her form, preferring baggy jumpers and ruffles.
"Yer've been up there for an hour now, what's the hold up!? Huh?" Joey at first complained but quickly silenced as a very nervous Evangeline made her way down, the blonde male going a bit red in the face.
A thin materialed, lavender coloured polo neck hugged her curvaceous form, a slit across the torso to reveal some of her cleavage though not too much to be though of as promiscuous. They followed her hourglass figure down to the swell of her hips where a black miniskirt could then be seen, a bit shorter than she would have liked but not showing too much of her long, slender legs thanks to the long socks she wore. To the entire group it was a shock, used to seeing her beneath cardigans.
"I-It's too much, right? I should go change...I've just never been to...well this kind of thing..."
"Eva, you look great! Better than great, you look amazing!" Teá exclaimed, moving to link arms with her to start leading her out of the house. "You should totally come out to parties more often - let your hair down! Where did you get the jumper?"
Joey and Tristan both stood there blinking, Yugi frowning before waving his hands in front of them both to try and snap them out of it.
"Hey guys? Guys, the taxi is here?"
"Tristan?" Joey began with a wavering voice. "What on earth just happened?"
"I think, Joey, that's called realisation." He replied just as dumbfounded, shaking his head before taking Joey by the shoulder and leading him to the taxi, Yugi following behind. "Come on, you guys are gonna miss the duels otherwise!"
By the time the taxi had made its way jut to the location, the party was well under way with the music loud and the lights flashing on the horizon as they approached. Despite how they knew Kaibas wealth and how he liked to show off, the six of them were still completely blown away by the spectacle of what was before them. A fountain was out the front portraying a Blue Eyes White Dragon roaring up to the sky in which the water danced from its mouth - the lights within making it look almost like white lightning. The mansion itself was massive but currently overloaded with students, a few suits here and there for security though Evangeline could only imagine how much they hated their job right now.
"Now what in the heck does that Kaiba need all this for!?" Joey complained, folding his arms and growling.
"To throw big parties I guess." Yugi joked, the group laughing in response though soon heard a loud cheer. "They must be holding the duels all over the place!"
"Yugi Moto." A security guard addressed the group, bowing slightly. "Master Kaiba was hoping you would be here tonight. While the duels are ongoing, there is no single prize. Each duel will have its own individual prize...for tonight only, on behalf of Kaiba Corporation, enjoy our prototypes and use them to their full potential."
"Individual prizes?" Joey repeated earning a nudge from Tristan.
"Hey you might actually be able to win something for once!"
