Elijah was much more reserved than Klaus and Kol combined. Which I'm fairly certain I hadn't seen Klaus in his entirety yet.

Elijah had a square jaw and nicely combed brown hair. His eyes were brown and full of compassion. If you were to think of the portrait of sophistication, it was Elijah. He was the oldest of the brothers and he carried it well.

We sat in the living room of a rather nice plantation house. Klaus sitting on the couch next to me and Kol and Elijah across from us in two separate chairs.

"So Clarke, it is my understanding that it was my sister Rebekah who turned you, is this correct?" Elijah and all the brothers had such an amazing accents, but Elijah's was the most elegant.

"Yes. Or that's what I'm told. She compelled me to forget her face. I just remember fangs and a girl." I told him.

"I wonder what prompted her to change you. You say you were just looking for help and she jumped you?" He continued leaning forward in his chair.

"That's all I remember at least." I glanced at Klaus who seamed to be lost in his own thoughts.

"Tell me. Why were you traveling alone?"

"My boyfriend had just cheated on me. So I left. I was an orphan and he was all I had." Tears formed in my eyes not from sadness but from anger.

"Hmm. Something tells me our sister found out this information and decided she would give you the power to change your life." Elijah looked proud that he had solved the puzzle.

"Two broken hearts share a bond. How adorable." Kol chuckled.

I lunged at him only to be caught midair by Klaus. I struggled against him to no avail. Elijah looked amused.

Klaus's mouth was next to my ear as he whispered "As much as I love your feisty side, love. He's not worth it."

I glared at Kol but agreed with Klaus.

As he released me I heard a heartbeat enter the room. And a tiny one along with it. I looked to where the noise came from and met the brown eyes of a girl in her mid-twenties like myself. She had wavy brown hair and was quite lovely. She was also just barely pregnant.

"Ah Haley. You're awake." Elijah spoke as he approached the girl.

"Yeah. Who's this? Your sister?" The girl-Haley spoke gesturing at me.

"No. But close." Kol chuckled to himself.

"I'm Clarke." I smiled at her. "Rebekah turned me not too long ago."

"Ah. I see. I'm Haley." She offered me a small smile. "Klaus knocked me up not too long ago."

I froze. I don't know much about vampires. But I was certain we couldn't reproduce except by blood. Also I felt slightly saddened. I didn't know why.

"Uh.. How?" I choked out.

"You forget I'm a hybrid, love." Klaus started " my werewolf genes still work apparently."

"Right. You're a hybrid." I mumbled not being able to tear my eyes away from the girl's stomach, I listened to the steady beat of its heart. I was taken back to one of my human memories.

"Clarke, this is going to be warm." The nurse warned before squirting the blue gel onto my exposed stomach and putting the tool against me. I squirmed with excitement. This would be the first exam.

Heath was beside me holding my hand smiling at me, his green eyes were so mesmerizing. Then we heard it. Our baby's heart beat. Life couldn't be better.

I was brought back to reality by Kol snapping his fingers in my face.

"Gah. Would you go away already?"
I wined

He chuckled "sorry. Thought I would bring you back from wherever you went. It didn't look like a great place."

I swatted him away from me and walked out of the house, I heard Klaus' voice behind me
"Where are you running off to love?"

"I need a drink." I grumbled. But I know he heard me.

So I went to the bar and drank. And tried to forget my past.

I was about six shots of vodka and three martinis in when Elijah came and sat next to me at the bar.

"What seams to be troubling you my dear?" He spoke kindly.

I looked over at him and smiled
"Well. We're not making out right now. And that's pretty troubling." I lazily wrapped my arms around his neck

What can I say? I'm a whore when I drink too much.

He chuckled and politely removed my arms. "well yes. But you see I never like getting in triangles and I believe if I joined it would be a square."

I looked at him with a puzzled expression "who's a square? Because I came. So I can't be square. It's the others who aren't here who are squares." I giggled.

"Yes. Well. I believe we should get you home." Elijah said as he stood me up, I stumbled and almost fell but he scooped me up bridal style and carried me to the house. He laid me in my bed and tucked me in. He went to leave.

"Elijah? " I whispered

He sat down next to me and pet my hair.

"What is it, dear?" He spoke kindly

"Please don't let anything happen to Haley and the baby. Loosing a baby is the worst thing." I slowly started drifting to blackness when I felt Elijah kiss my forehead and whisper "I'm so sorry"
