One the bell rings I'm the first one out of the class. I literally sprint so that I can go talk to Lilly. I don't understand why she gave me that awful glare before I went to class. Maybe she hates me for leaving her after what happened with Nick. I need to find out.
I walk once I'm close to her classroom. She looks in my direction and sees me walking towards her but she doesn't make the slightest move to come talk to me. Instead, I see her talking with a boy and they turn away from me to walk the other way. I feel jealousy wrap itself around me. Who is this? Why is she talking to him? Does she want to move on already?
I run to walk right in front of them both. I just stare at the boy with Lilly and I want to punch him in the face for trying to steal my girl.
I turn my attention to Lilly and try not to lose my temper. I just feel betrayed and really frustrated. Why can't we just sort this out and get to the bottom of this?
"Who is this?" I accusingly say to Lilly.
"None of your business. Now you can go run off with Makaila since you both seem to be so close now! I bet she would love your company like I did. Maybe you actually listen to her, unlike you did for me!" She says.
What? What does Makaila have to do with....
Ohhhhhhhh....
She was getting the wrong idea. I flashback to when Makaila grabbed my arm and then I saw Lilly earlier that morning. She must of thought that we were a thing.
But what is she talking about not listening to her? I'm confused. I have always listened to her. Did I ever ignore her?
No.
"What are yo..." But I am cut off before I can say another word. She seems angry when she cuts me off. I just want to know why. I need her to tell me straight out so that I'm not left in the unknown. Maybe this is a big misunderstanding because I have no idea why she is angry with me. It could range from: me leaving her at her house, Makaila, or her just not liking me anymore.
"Just leave me alone. I'm going to go eat snack with John now." She says walking past me. She pulls John along with her and I feel my face turn with anger when I see her grab his arm. Not only that but I see them laugh together shortly after!
What the actual fuck is going on?
I go to the lunch table that my friends usually hang out at and I sit down to write a letter explaining what happened after I left her house and how I feel. I try to be as nice as possible even though he totally ran off with someone else.
I don't think she is in any mood to talk to me. I don't know what the fuck is up but I'm done trying to stay as calm as possible. I really don't want to lose her.
I text Makaila to tell her to come meet me at my table. She is at the table within two minutes of me texting her.
"Hi Dylan! Are you still angry at me? I just wanted to say sorry. I really don't want us to fight."
"No I'm not angry at you. I just lost my temper because you called my girlfriend a bitch and I just didn't like that." I say honestly. "I'm the one that should be sorry. Sorry for yelling at you, just please...please don't ever call Lilly a bitch ever again. And don't try to grab my arm or do anything that could imply that we might be going out because when you grabbed my arm this morning, Lilly got the wrong idea. I think maybe that's why she's angry with me."
"Note taken!" She chirps. I'm glad that she's not angry at me because I've already have enough with Lilly being angry at me.
"So now that that's cleared up, I wanted you to deliver a message for me please. I wrote a letter for Lilly and I want you to give it to her. And would you please tell her that we aren't together whatsoever. She is in no mood to talk to me so maybe if you talk to her then she might listen. I think she thought we were together. Just clear that up and I think we should be fine. I spent a whole lot of thinking on that letter." I tell Makaila.
"I'm so sorry Dylan. I never meant for any of this to happen. I'll take the letter to Lilly and hopefully this will all clear up. I'm pretty sure it might just be one big misunderstanding." She says.
"Yeah. I just want to be with her already. Thanks so much for doing this for me." I say.
The bell rings, indicating that snack is over.
"No problem Dylan." Makaila says turning on her heel and walking toward her next class. "I'll give it to her next time I see her."
Little does Dylan know that Makaila is smirking as soon as her back is to Dylan and has no intention of giving Lilly the letter. Rather, she has a sneaky plan up her sleeve.
