JACOB'S P.O.V
FLASHBACK
"Uh, hey." I mutter to Edward and Bella in the living room of the cottage. My voice is a little higher than usual, a clear sign I am nervous.
The tolerable leaches look up from their books and smile.
"Hi Jake." Bella says and shuts her book. Edward on the other hand, snaps his book hut with a loud bang, an expression of hatred on his stony face.
"Before you say anything Edward, please don't read my mind, I want to do this properly." I already know Edward hasn't read my mind because I have been blocking my thoughts from him. I'm going to ask them the right way, even if I do get killed after asking my request.
Edward gives a single jerk of a nod to indicate he is going to listen to my voice, not my mind.
"Look, I really love Renesmee, she is my life. I'm not expecting an answer right away, if you need time then I'm willing to wait but I need you both to know that your answer will change my life. Wether it be yes or no. What I'm asking is, may I ask your daughter for my hand in marriage?" I tried to be as calm and steady but I sounded shaky and scared. It's because I am. Asking for their blessing is is a big commitment. Edward was furious when I first kissed Ness, imagine what he will do to me now.
Edward growls and glares at me with dark eyes. Bella though, eyes me with a look of surprise despite the small smile on her lips.
"Absolutely not." Edward insists.
My face drops instantly. Of course he would say no, it's inevitable.
"Edward." Bella warns whilst giving him narrow eyes before turning back to me and smiling. I see Edward's concentrating face as he stares off into space, probably listening to Bella's negotiating thoughts.
"You have my blessing Jacob. As long as you look after her and treat my daughter well, I will accept your decisions." I smile softly at Bells, I'm not going to lie and say I didn't expect that answer from her. I then look over to her husband who is still staring off into space with a hard look on his face.
Bella softly nudges his side which makes him jump in surprise then looks me right in the eye.
"She's young, too young to be getting married. She'a too pure and innocent to be with you. But if he wants to marry you then I'm not going to stop her. I may not be happy with this now but... You have my blessing Jacob." I puff out a breath of relief. Putting to one side what he said about me, he's letting me marry his daughter. Something I never expected him to do.
Without contemplating my actions, I pull them both up from the couch and grab them in a hug. For a second they both just stand there, perplexed and stunned by my movement; but then they awkwardly hug back. They cold skin doesn't bother me, I'm used to it I guess.
Uncomfortableness overtakes me and I pull away with a massive smile on my face.
Now all I have to do is ask Nessie one question that will change my life forever.
END FLASHBACK
And her I am, thinking how I ever got Edwards blessing- how I ever got Renesmee to marry me- how I ever got so fortunate.
I've had to pinch myself a couple of times just to make sure I'm not dreaming. And sure enough, it hurt.
I am over the moon to have Ness as my fiancé. Never in a million years did I expect her to fall in love with me in return- imprint or no imprint I still would have fallen for her.
"Jakey." My love calls to me from my side. I shake my head and blink, slipping back to reality.
"Yeah?" I look around me and make sure everything is still as it was before I zoned out. The Cullens' eyes are all on my as I sit on the beige couch in the main house with Nessie under my arm.
