The pistol felt cold to the touch. Even though she had never used one, it felt familar. A smile slowly spread across her face. This would make everything so much easier. She set the pistol down and reached behind her head. (Y/N), or more accurately, Lightstorm started to undo the bandages over her eye.
"What are you doing?" Jynx asked.
"I do not want to hide my wounds. I choose to learn from my weakness, not hide it." She responded. The bandages fell away, revealing the scar. It was even more horrible than Jynx remembered, she felt a chill travel up her spine. The scar traveled from just above the eybrow, arching across the eye and down the left side of her face. It made her look as if she had survived an attack from some wild beast.
"That's something you should learn."
In one swift motion, Lightstorm grabbed the gun, whipped around to face Jynx, and shot her point blank. The shot rang out, echoing in the hall. The Titans and Scorch stopped staring daggers at each other and turned to see what had happened. The both groups feared that Jynx had shot (Y/N)/Lightstorm out of anger. For the moment, they forgot their differences and rushed into the room together.
What they saw stopped them in their tracks. Jynx lay bleeding on the floor, a hole ripped through her chest. A dark figure loomed over her, a gun held loosley in her hand.
"W-What happened?" one of them stuttered.
"The world now has one less useless being." Lightstorm lifted her head and turned to face them. Her face was a mask of calm. No emotion was shown in regards to just killing.
"So you are against villains now?" Raven asked nervously.
"No, but I am not with them." She said in a cold voice. Everyone in the room shivered at these words. The scar on Lightstorms face just added to the fear.
"So what now?" Cyborg asked.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of this." Scorch said confidently. His hand burst into flames, wrapping around his arm. The Titans stepped back, knowing not to get close. Lightstorm didn't seem afraid at all. She actually looked as if she was amused by Scorch's confidence.
"Come quietly and I won't have to hurt you." Scorch said menacingly.
Lightstorm just laughed, "You are overly confident. Remember your weaknesses Scorch, they will destroy you." She said, the air around her getting charged with electricity.
The Titans did the smart thing and hid behind a counter.
"This is bad, Scorch could kill her."
"Um, did you see the look she gave him? That could kill anyone in one glance."
"She does seem different, more powerful. I think we should stay out of the way." The Titans nodded, knowing that going out there would be suicide.Scorch and Lightstorm stood facing each other. Their elements swirling around them, destroying everthing it touched. They kept their eyes locked on each other for a full 20 seconds, neither made a move. As the tension in the room reached it maximum, Lightstorm heard something behind the counter. Scorch heard it too and the both walked over to see the Titans behind the counter and Beast Boy humming Final Countdown.
"Shut up." Scorch and Lightstorm said in unison.
"Yup, sorry." The two walked back to where they were, resuming their fight."That was close. Don't hum during fights. We discussed this." Raven scolded him.
"Sorry, it was just to good a chance." He cowered.
"Just watch." She told him.
"But it's boring. All they do is stare at each other. Hey, Cyborg!"
"What?"
"Can you make some popcorn or something?"
"Of course dude!" A few seconds later they both had bags of popcorn, sodas, and foam fingers that said 'Go (Y/N)'.
"Would you just take this seriously!" Raven hissed at them.
"We are!" Cyborg said, his mouth stuffed with popcorn.Lightstorm and Scorch were still silent, waiting for the other to attack. Being the more impatient than Lightstorm, Scorch launched at her first. His fists flew at her almost faster than the eye could see. Even so, she had no trouble blocking and dodging the strikes. Her face was still calm, she made no moves to counterattack.
"You're fast" Scorch huffed, already out of breath.
"Like lightning." She said, not breaking a sweat.
Scorch jumped backwards to catch his breath. He glanced around and realized that the entire medical wing of MAINE was basically rubble. The fight had destroyed it completely. He looked back to Lightstorm, she was looking at the destruction too. A slow smile spread across her face.
Without warning, she launched heself at him. Wind swirled around her, propelling her forward. Scorch had no time to dodge or block, all he could do was stand there. Her lightning-charged fist collided with his stomach. He doubled over, all the air leaving his body.
"You are weak." She wispered in his ear.
"Oh yeah, well take this!" A circle of flames burst from the ground around Lightstorm's feet.
"Not a problem." Lightstorm reached her hand up towards the sky, as if beconing something forth. Scorch stepped back. He had a good idea about what was about to happen and he did not like it.
The sound of thunder could be heard outside. A second after, Lightning struck through the roof, opening a gaping hole for the rain to fall in. In a matter of seconds, the fire was completely gone. As a bonus, the lightning also struck Scorch, causing him to black out. Lightstorm took a glance at the Titans.
"You may leave. I'll be going my own way now. Goodbye." She summons her katana, thrusting it at Scorch.
