CHAPTER 6;

I had been procrastinating all day whether or not to get out of bed and participate in daily activities. It was 4 o'clock on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Landon was at a friends house and Dad was working. My dad is a college professor at the local college, he does a tutoring session on Saturdays. But he also has three novels published.

Meanwhile, my Saturday consisted of laying in bed all day. I was supposed to call my mother some time today, and dreadfully, go on this "date" with Avery. I've been up since 6 out of habit, before I hurt my ankle I went on morning runs.

I layed in bed for twenty more minutes before I finally reached to my night stand and grabbed my phone. I dialed my moms number and sat up in bed, only to get dizy from sitting up too fast.

It only took one and a half rings before my mom answered, and she seemed overly happy to hear from me.

"HEY! Glad to hear from you, sweetheart!" I rolled my eyes."

"Hi mom." I leaned my head against the headboard of my bed and closed my eyes.

"So, do you want to do dinner tonight? I can have Scott take off and Norie will be so happy to see you again!" Yep, thats right, I have met Norie before. It's in the custody agreements that me and Landon visit at least once a year, and I met Norie once last year when I went. Landon goes all the time, he loves going to moms. Him and Scott get along really well and he likes the thought of being Norie's big brother.

In the summer, Landon goes there for the week, and comes back here every other weekend. Everytime mom picks Landon up, or drops him off she asks me to come with her. She seriously invites herself in my room and tries to talk to me. It makes me angry to no end.

"I can't. I have plans." I said.

"Oh. Well cant you cancel?" I got up and decided to pick out an outfit.

"No, I don't think he'll let me." Mom squealed into the phone which made me pull the phone away from my ear so she didnt blow my eardrum.

"A boy? Does Taylor have a boyfriend!? Where are you going? What time is he picking you up? What are you going to wear?!" Mom was getting waaaay ahead of herself.

"Mom stop. We aren't even friends and its not a date." Mom calmed down a bit, but seemed disappointed.

"Oh." I searched through my rack of clothes trying to find a nice pair of jeans and a cute shirt.

"So can we do lunch tomorrow?" I asked trying to hurry along the conversation.

"Sure! Ill pick you up at 11." Mom lived five hours away so I decided to make things easier.

"How about we meet halfway at that fancy restaurant across from the Subway in Canton." Mom agreed and finally hung up. I set my phone down on my dresser, but right as I did, it started to vibrate. It was a text from Avery.

'Hey, ill pick u up at seven. & wear jeans-nothing too fancy.' Good, I wasnt going to wear a skirt or dress anyways. I texted him back saying okay, then decided on a shirt to wear. It was dark blue with two layers of loose ruffles on it. I wore a white lace jacket with a pair of jeans and blue flats. I wore my hair natural and wavy, not bothering to straighten it. I kept in my sparkly earrings and put on my sparkly belt to match. My outfit is something I'd typically wear on a normal day to school, nothing spectacular.

Most of the clothes in my closet were bought by my mother. She asks me my sizes every year before school, then orders the most amazing clothes for me, then drives them to my house and we usually have dinner. I always tell her I dont need anything! But then she gets all teary and I feel bad.
