CHAPTER 7;

Dad was still at work when I got home. He was supposed to pick Landon up on his way through town, so I would be home alone for at least another half hour. Dad gets done work at eight, but then it'd take at least an hour for him to pick Landon up and come home. It was eight thirty now.

The first thing I did was go get changed into sweatpants and a tshirt, then grabbed a bag of chips and layed down on the couch in the living room to watch some tv. I was enjoying myself until I remembered Tyler's last text message. I grabbed my phone and opened it to read the last text from him.

'Can I call you?' It read. I groaned aloud and thought of a good responce.

'What do you want to talk about?' I texted. Within minutes I had a responce.

'Why are u ignoring me?' He texted.

'Im talking to u right now, arent i?' It kind of sounded more mean than I had originally made it out to be.

'Where were u? Ive been texting u all day.' I knew telling him I was on a date would piss him off to no end, so thats what I told him. He immediately asked questions.

'Wait what!? With who? Where? How come you didnt tell me?'

'Relax Ty.' I responded. I figured he was pissed off at me because he never responded to me, but within ten minutes I had a knock on my bedroom door. I figured it was just my dad so I opened it up willingly, but I shut it as soon as I saw Tyler.

"What the hell are you doing in my house?!" I yelled. Tyler sighed.

"Taylor, we need to talk." Tyler yelled back. "Please?" He added. I thought about locking my door and going to bed, but what would that solve? I slowly opened the door and Tyler stepped in without hesitation. Tyler knows my hiding place is my roof, and thats exactly where he went. He walked over to my window and climbed out onto the roof. I slung a sweatshirt over my head before following him.

Once we were laying on the roof, Tyler came right out with questions.

"So how was your date?" He asked, his beautiful deep voice curdling me.

"It was...badass." I replied, smiling while replaying the car accident in my head. It was deffinetly badass.

"Badass? Why?" I shrugged not willing to tell him what happened.

"Who was your date with?" I took my time thinking about how I should answer him. Do I dare tell him who it was with? Do I not? So I decided to ask him a question.

"How's Kalista?" I asked. Tyler turned his head to look at me, but I continued to stare at the beautiful stars. There were so many out and shining.

"What? Kalista? Is that why you're mad at me? Because of her!?" I laughed. His reaction was priceless, his tone of voice was raised and he had creases in his tan forehead.

"I never said that." Tyler was clearly irritated at me and I found it funny.

"Taylor, why do you care so much about me and Kalista?" I gulped. 'Maybe because I love you, stupid!' I wanted so badly to scream, but I couldn't. I just couldn't bring myself to say those words to him because I knew the consequences. I began to sweat, my stomach grew clammy, and I just did not know how to respond to him.

I took my time to answer, which clearly made it obvious that whatever I would say next would be a lie.

"I don't." I dragged out the dont for more affect.

"Taylor. I know your lying." I finally looked over at him. He reached over and grabbed my right hand. Damn it.

"Im not." I said attempting to stay strong.
