It was ten years after Hiccup's crowning as King of the Wilderwest. The land of Tomorrow was rebuilt by the Vikings and dragons, and since all of them worked together, it only took a year and a half. Once Hiccup had organized the Vikings, and had gotten the dragons situated, he had proposed to Camicazi. Camicazi and Hiccup had been dating while the building of Tomorrow was going on. They got married six months after the rebuilding had been finished. Fishlegs was made the head bard. Fishlegs hadn't gotten married, but he was dating Barbara. Hiccup and Camicazi had a baby three years after Hiccup was crowned King. She had been named Ingrid Valhallarama Haddock, after Camicazi's grandmother and Hiccup's mother. She is now seven years old.
Stoick had had a niggling of an idea for awhile now. He had had to think very hard about his idea, as Stoick wasn't the sharpest sword in the armory. That was his son's job. Stoick had been recounting Hiccup's adventures, and then he finally realized something. He had never found out where Hiccup had gotten his fabled sword Endeavor, and what about that letter? The one that had provided evidence that Hiccup was the true heir to Grimbeard the Ghastly? Where in Valhalla did he get that? As Stoick was not a patient man, he immediately went to ask his son.
Stoick found King Hiccup in his throne room, with Queen Camicazi and Princess Ingrid.
"SON!" Stoick boomed. He didn't do quiet. Hiccup's mother, Valhallarama, had followed Stoick, also curious about where Hiccup had gotten his sword.
Hiccup sighed inwardly. Even though he was King, and no longer an embarrassment, he still had a hard time talking to his father. Sometimes his father wouldn't listen, and sometimes the conversation was just really awkward.
"Hello father. Hello mother." Hiccup was a bit more familiar with his mother after she had helped him claim his throne. However, Valhallarama was still a heroic action figure of a woman. His mother had never been very... Well... Motherly.
"Hiccup, I was wondering where you got your sword, Endeavor, and where did you get that letter from Grimbeard the Ghastly that declares you his heir?"
Hiccup paled a bit and looked worried. He remembered that incident. That was the one with Alvin, and finding out about how he was left handed, and... THE TREASURE. Uh oh. This may not end up well. "Um... Uh, well..."
Camicazi chimed in. "Hiccup, no need to be modest. Just tell us!" Fishlegs walked into the room. "Hello Stoick, Valhallarama. Hiccup, what's going on?" Hiccup gulped and looked nervous. "Ah, Fishlegs? Remember the adventure where I got my sword? Y'know, the one with Alvin? And, um, the Stormblade?" Fishlegs's eyes brightened. "Oh, the one with the treas- oh. Well, Hiccup, you should tell them! It's not like you have to tell them where it is! You're in charge now, your father can't make you show him!"
Hiccup groaned and said "FISHLEGS! Fine. Well, father, remember when Toothless, Fishlegs, Alvin, and I almost drowned twelve or so years ago? Well, we didn't wash up on a beach. We swam to a sea cave, and Toothless sniffed out a door in the sea cave. The same warning on Grimbeard's coffin and on the treasure chest was on the door. Alvin got very nasty once he saw that. He said that since my dragon sniffed out the door, I was the true heir of Grimbeard the Ghastly. He also said that the chest on the isle of the Skullions must have been a decoy, and the real treasure was behind the door. Alvin was right. He stuck his sword to my chest, and forced me to open the door. There was more treasure in that cavern than in your wildest dreams. Mounds upon mounds of gold. It was amazing! Alvin then tried to kill me, reasoning that since he lost his hand to Grimbeard's booby trap, he would kill Grimbeard's precious heir in revenge. Toothless grabbed a sword for me, so I could defend myself. Remember, my right arm had been broken, so I caught the sword in my left hand. It was the first time I realized I was left handed. I fought Alvin, and for someone my age, it was brilliant fighting. However, Alvin was more experienced and he was winning. Suddenly, a monstrous strangulator grabbed Alvin and swallowed him whole. It then grabbed me. It spoke a dialect of Dragonese, so I tricked it into stinging itself with its poisonous stinger. It died from its own poison. Alvin had survived, although all his hair was gone from the digestive juices. We didn't know he was alive, so we left him there. Fishlegs and I found a note from Grimbeard pinned to the door. It said I was the true heir, and it said that he hoped I would be a better leader than he had been. It said that Vikings in his time were not ready to own dangerous and beautiful things. I agreed. I wrote, Still Not Ready on the note, then swore Fishlegs to secrecy."
Stoick looked furious. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, STILL NOT READY?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME? WE COULD'VE BEEN RICH! FEARED!"
Hiccup got right back in his father's face. "This is the exact reason! I saw the glint in your eyes when you saw the decoy! You were prepared to fight Baggybum the Beerbelly for it! WE ARE STILL NOT READY!"
Camicazi was nodding. "As much as I love treasure, I agree. I know my mother's greed. Vikings are not ready."
As Stoick and Valhallarama stalked off, Hiccup kissed his wife and muttered, "thank you, thank you, thank you! Oh Thor, Vikings are idiots."
Camicazi grinned. "Y'do know that WE'RE Vikings too, right?"
"Yep."
