After about fifteen minutes, we finally decide to step outside of the bathroom. I poke my head out of the little crack in between, I see nobody. "I think they're all outside," I whisper to Julio. We both quietly manage to walk out the door and make it to the exit of the cinema without drawing attention to ourselves. Devon, Blake, and Colt were not even looking at us, because they were still looking out for any ambushers.
"What are you guys looking at?" I ask them. They were staring into the open, and I couldn't see a goddamn thing because they were all towering over me. The drawbacks of being short...
"We heard something in the bushes and we were trying to see if we could spot them." Devon keeps looking for any movements or activity.
"Ok...." Then I see it. A slight bristle in the bush to my left, which none of them payed attention to. It looked like there was someone inside of the bushes, but since it had a lot of leaves, I couldn't identify them from where I was standing.
The rest of them hear another bristle, and they turn just in time to see the bush shaking. "Our first kill!" Devon says with joy. Devon, Colt, and Blake are the ones that ascend to the bush, meanwhile Julio and I are at a far enough distance to escape if a battle broke out. But when all three of them get to the bush, none of them attack.
"No please! I fan!" I heard her beg.
I know that voice. "Emily?" I ask.
Everyone faces me. Everyone's eyes are on me. "You know her?" Colt asked me with shock.
"Yeah." I slowly walk to the bush. Yep, it's her, I thought to myself.
"Are they going to kill me?" Emily asks me, even though the rest of them can hear her also.
"I don't know," I look up at them, "Are you?"'
"Um...." Devon exchanges glances with everyone.
"I don't want to die."
Devon turns back to me, "No, we're not."
"Wait, what?" Emily and I both ask Devon.
"I thought you said the first fan you run into outside of corn.."
"I guess we could add one more person?"
"Oh my gosh!" Colt says, "We're a six-man team!"
Emily stands up and brushes off some dirt that were on her pants. All she had was a hatchet and a small, dark grey backpack. "So, are we all in a team now?"
"YES!" Colt says with excitement. "Holy crap! We're going to be unstoppable!"
"Alright then," I say before things get way off topic, "We should start moving before anyone does plan on attacking us."
"Sounds like a plan!" Blake finally speaks. We all start moving to, I have no idea where, and while Julio and I are in the back, walking together side-by-side, I noticed that Devon and Emily were a lot closer to each other than normal. Hmmm, I wondered, is there something already going on? It's only been two minutes!
We stop to take a break, and I pull Emily off to the side.
"What's up?" she asks.
"Do you.... Have a thing for Devon?" I whisper to her.
"Um..." I barely hear her voice because she's talking so softly, "Yes! He's really cute and I can't help it! Whenever I'm near him I can't control my emotions!"
"Oh my god, you have a really, really big thing for him." I stare at her in shock.
"You seem surprised." She laughs quietly. "And I think that he has a thing for me too, but I'm not sure.."
"Oh!" I smile because I was so happy for her. "I'm getting confused. Is this the Survival Games or a show where we fall in love with YouTubers?" We both laugh, and thankfully they can't hear us.
"So what happens if he does have a thing for you?" I ask her.
"Well, we might hit it off or something like that.."
"This is just crazy. I mean, we're in a team with Devon, Julio, Colt, and Blake, and we actually have a chance with our favorites... How is this even possible?"
"I honestly have no idea." We both make sure that they're not listening in on our conversation. "But I want to know what's going to happen between Colt and Julio, both coming from the same state and everything."
"Yeah," I sigh, "It just brings me down to even think about it. I just feel really depressed whenever the topic comes up." After our little conversation, we rejoin the group, and we start walking again. We spot someone running through the trees and the four of them split off to center the victim. Devon equips his bow, Blake gets the flint and steel, Colt grips his iron sword, and Julio his diamond. Emily and I quietly stand behind a bush, holding our choice of weapons. I checked behind us to make sure no one was going to sneak up and attack. Devon pulls back the string and aims it for the victim. He lets go and the arrow flies in I swear was a completely straight line. The arrow stabs their arm and blood starts to spew out. I see them all inch a bit closer to the center. The victim dabs at the scab and the thick, dark red substance on his fingers leave me craving to see more.
Devon shoots another arrow and he's started running. Julio and I are the nearest to where our target was running, so we both go after him. He was quite fast, but not fast enough to escape our blades that craved for his blood. His soul.
Julio manages to get some hits on the victim, and he starts to decrease a lot in speed. I kick him to the ground. He's now on his back and is starting to cough up blood. Ew, gross. I raise the sword over my head and stab it straight through his heart. Blood started to stain my silver blade as I watched the life drain from his eyes. When he was gone, I removed the sword from his body, and the tip of the blade is dripping in thick, oozing blood. Exactly what I wanted.
Everyone else catches up and we all stare down at the corpse of what once was a living tribute. But when I look closer, I start to recognize him more. Then a million memories come flooding back to my brain, and I stumble backwards. "Guys." I turned to all of them as a cannon signed, "I think we just killed Furry."
