***Gabby Dawson's POV****

"Code Blue, treatment four." The alarm sounds and I realize that they're calling a code in Antonio's room.

I feel my knees buckle and I fall to the floor. Soon after, Matt wraps his arms around me and I hold onto him tight.

And wait for the worst to happen.

After a few minutes pass by, Matt pulls me up and over to a chair in the Emergency Department waiting room.

We sit and wait for what feels like forever. I look around and see that the entire house is here now as well as Erin Lindsay, Jay Halstead, Hank Voight and Alvin Olinsky.

"Where's Arbor?" I ask as I stand up and walk over to Erin.

Erin looks up at me with nothing but sadness in her eyes. "I don't know, Gabby." She sighs. "She took off. No one knows where she is."

"You do." I growl, tearing my eyes from Erin's to Voight's.

He presses his lips together. "She told me not to tell anyone, and frankly, her where abouts are none of your buisness."

"None of my buisness?" I scoff and shoot daggers at Voight. "My brother is completely in love with the girl and she's AWALL!" I grab the bridge of my nose between my fingers. "Look, I know you're a real dick!" I keep myself from smirking at him. "But you owe this to me! You owe this to Antonio. Where is Arbor?"

"If she wanted you to know, you would know." He states simply.

I roll my eyes at him. "Antonio is dying in there and you're not even going to tell her?" I realize I'm shouting.

"Come on, Gabby. That's enough." Matt tries to get me to turn around.

But I resist, pushing him away. "No! Voight! She's going to hate you for not telling her. Trust me!" I growl then let Matt take me back to the other side of the waiting room.

I sit down in the chair in time for Will Halstead to come out.

"Hey, Gabby." He says softly with a small smile.

I stand up to face him. Everyone comes closer to us.

"Is he okay?" I ask, feeling myself start to get numb all over.

Will nods with a small smile. "We got him back." He informs me as he puts a hand on my shoulder. "He's in surgery right now to fix the pneumo and mend a couple of broken ribs." He takes his hand off of me. "I'm going to go help them in the OR. I promise we'll save him."

"Thank you." I smile widely, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders right away.

Dr. Halstead turns around and rushes away.

I turn back and sit down. Resting my head on Matt again.

****Dr. Connor Rhodes POV****

"Dr. Rhodes, how's he doing?" I hear Will Halstead ask. He's just entering the OR.

"He's hanging in there." I say as I frantically throw sutures in the patient. "I've just fixed the pneumo but he's broken both femurs and 8 ribs. I'm getting a neuro surgeon in here. His ICP is high. I need someone to relive that pressure."

"Do you want my help?" Halstead asks.

I don't take my eyes of the patient. "I'm fine. You can leave my OR." I grab a clamp and clamp the bleeding from his legs. Then ortho comes in and starts to mend the broken bones.

Neuro comes in as I'm taking off my gown to leave and notify his family.

"Antonio Dawson." I say as I get to the waiting room.

A light skinned woman with dark hair, dressed in a fire fighter uniform stands up. "I'm his sister."

"Hi, I'm Dr. Rhodes. Antonio is doing fine. The damage is more than we expected but it's still recoverable. He broke both femurs and 8 ribs. I'm worried about his intracranial pressure. So that's what we're going to be watching. He'll be in surgery for a few more hours, but after this surgery we'll monitor his ICP and go from there."

"Thank you Doc." His sister hugs me.

I hug her back and shake the hand of the firefighter lieutenant that is next to her.

After I let go of his hand, I nod at everyone else in the room and go back to the OR.

When I get in, I see the neuro guy.

"How's it going?" I ask.

He looks up. "I got the intracranial pressure down but he's got a bleed I can't find."

I walk up to the neuro doctor and watch him work. After a few minutes, he finds the bleed and fixes it.

After that, ortho keeps working. I leave the OR and decide to go take more patients where they need me. They'll be in there for a couple more hours fusing his femurs.

I walk out of the OR and start helping with incoming patients from the accident that Antonio was involved in.

****Kelly Severide's POV****

"Lacey, you need to be sure that's what you think happened!" I shout, trying to keep my voice down as we stand arguing in the locker room.

She puts her hands on her hips and looks up at me. "Kelly, he smelled like scotch." She repeats for the fifth time. "He was drunk and got in that car! He could've been the one who caused this!"

"Well why didn't anyone else say that he smelled?" I retort. If Lacey is going to try to report this. She could ruin Antonio's entire career.

Lacey bites down on her lip. "I rinsed out his mouth with some mouth wash in the ambo and we cut his shirt off. I threw it out."

"You're protecting him?" I hiss, somewhat grateful and somewhat jealous.

"Of course I'm protecting him, Kelly!" She whisper-shouts back at me. "He's Gabby's brother and a good guy. One mistake shouldn't ruin his entire career!"

"Who knows how many times he got in that car and drove!" I roll my eyes at her. "He's an alcoholic that has killed innocent people now, Lace! He's not the guy you hooked up with a year ago!"

Hurt flashes across her face for a brief moment.

"Lace, I'm sorry, but we have to tell Boden and the cops what you did." I sigh. We have to make this right for those families who have lost people today.

"No!" She yells then drops her voice back down to a whisper. "If we do that, Kelly, I'll lose my job."

I run a hand through my hair and think. Should I just let this all blow over? It'll probably be better that way, right? It's a win-win because Antonio won't go to jail or lose his job and neither will Lacey.

"Fine." I agree. "But don't say anything to anyone. If Antonio wasn't the one to cause this, then they didn't run a tox screen on him and he'll be fine. But you better hope he didn't cause this or I'll never forgive myself for covering up for your ex." I growl at her then walk past and back out into the living area.

Why the hell am I letting this happen?
