I ran. But I didn't know where I was running. It was too dark to recognize anything. And it was raining. After a little while, I stopped to look around. The rain soaked my clothes and made it hard for me to see anything. I narrowed my eyes, on the one hand for not letting the water run into them, on the other hand, to see something, but still, everything was too dark. I heard steps. They were close behind me. Panicking, I ran in another direction. I desperately tried to recognize the environment. But because of the fast run, I could only guess that I was in a forest. The smell of moss, leaves, and soil strengthened my suspicion. A crack beneath my feet. Some wood. I really was in a forest.
For
a short time, I could see the moon shine brightly through the leaves and recognized a little more. The trees stood very close together and under my feet, there was a path I started following now.
Shortly
after that, I saw a clearing. I ran faster. It felt like three hours passed by until I reached it. As soon as I was there, I realized the big stones around me. I had landed on a graveyard. Oh perfect! The steps were still following me. They were very close by now. I moved on without looking back. I wanted to get away from this place that was so frightening and scary.
I
got caught on a root and stumbled. My hands landed in softened soil. Right in front of a tombstone that was covered with ivy.
The
steps were now even closer than before. But I didn't care about them because my whole concentration was on that stone now. I pushed away the ivy a little bit and read the name. I boggled. It was my name.
In
that moment, the moon came through the clouds and I saw the shadow above me, holding a knife, wanting to stab it in my back.
