Chapter 6

Amy's POV
My family is getting together for a dinner tonight, Elle is visiting Dani and Lauren, and Nick is here visiting Christina, Katherine is cooking with our parents, and Lisa is helping her. I decided to ask if it was okay to invite Mason, I know he's shy, but he's not going to get over that if he doesn't meet more people, and my family is big, so it is a good start, so I went and found my mom
"Hey mom is it okay if I invite a friend over?" I asked and she just smiled
"Sure hun, we will have enough" she said and I just ran upstairs to my phone and decided to text Mason
A:Hey what's up?
M:Nothing much, what about you?
A: Nothing too exciting, Hey are you busy?
M: Um no I don't think I have anything going on..why?
A: My family is having a dinner tonight, Wanna come?
M: Ammmy.
A: Pwease? :(
M: Fine! I will be there in about 10 minutes
So after that I put my phone up, and went downstairs, and found Lisa and Katherine still in the kitchen cooking "smells good guys!" I said and they both looked at me
"Thanks!" They both said
"So Mason is coming over" I said and Lisa turned around and smiled
"Really?" She said and I just nodded
"Who's Mason?" Katherine said wide eyed
"A guy whos Amy in love with" Lisa teased and I just rolled my eyes
"Haha very funny" I said laughing and then I heard a knock on the door "I'll get it!" I said and went to the door and opened it to see Mason
"Hey!" I said smiling
"Hey there" he said returning the smile
"Come on in" I said and he followed behind
"So how many people are in your family?" He asked
"13, I have 10 siblings and my parents" I said and his eyes went wide
"13!" He said surprised
"You nervous?" I asked laughing
"No just like a lot" he said
"It will be okay!" Come on!" I said grabbing his hand and pulling him in the kitchen to where my family at
"Hey guys! This is Mason!" I said and they all looked at him and he just waved and we went to sit down at the tables since dinner was done when he got here and Mason ended up sitting down next to me
"So Mason are you from here?" My dad asked and Mason just turned around and looked at him
"Um no" he said looking down
"Oh so where are you from?" My dad asked while taking a drink and I could tell that Mason was really getting nervous, especially with my whole family staring at him so I just intervened my hands with his to comfort him "Calm down, it will be okay they're harmless I promise" I said whispering in his ear and he just looked at me and I felt his hand tighten with mine "I'm from Texas sir" Mason answered and I looked around the table to see that Lisa was smiling at me which is making me confused but we just continued with dinner, Mason was calming down, until my dad asked "What made you come to Tenneessee" and I felt Mason tense up again and his face just showed pure fear "Um, I just moved here with my brother" he said answering and he looked down and took a deep breath and then once dinner was done, Mason took my hand and pulled me outside so we were alone "Mason whats" and he cut me off "Amy there is something I need to tell you before we get any closer" he said which surprised
"Okay anything" I said curious about what's he's going to say
"The reason why I moved here was to get a new start, I mean the person I was in Texas is totally different of who I am now" he said and I am still confused
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Well, I got in trouble, a lot of trouble, I got in fights, and everything, and I got in a huge fight and lost my scholarship for college, and even got arrested, and after that I knew I had to get away from there, so that's why I moved here, to get a new start, and my brother took me in so please I know you came from a good family and stuff, but if you don't want anything to do with me anymore I understand" he said I just took his hand
"Listen, I can not judge you by the person you were in the past, and the fact you are making things better for yourself is a start, you already proved that you're not that person anymore"I said and he just smiled at me
Mason's POV
Amy is incredible, I love how she was understanding about it, and it just prove to me that she's a great person, and very forgiving even tho I have not done anything to hurt her, and not even planning on it, but right then and there, I knew I was falling for her, her smile, her laugh, her personality in general, and I do want to ask her on date but I need some approvals
"Hey I'll be right back!" I said leaving her confuse and I walked into the kitchen to where Christina, Katherine, and Lisa was at just talking
"Hey Mason" Christina said smiling
"What's up?" Lisa added
"I know that Amy talks about you guys a lot, ams she looks up to you guys, so to gain respect from you guys, I want your approval to take Amy on a date, and I know its old school" I said and they just looked at me and looked at each and smiled
"Mason, that was really great of you to ask us for permission, and you definitely got a yes from me" Christina which caused me to smile "Me too!" Katherine added smile at me and I just looked at Lisa while she was just thinking and which I know her and Amy are close
"Mason..." She said
"Yes?" I asked nervously
"I don't have any reason to say no" she smiling
"Thanks!" I said smiling and walked out but now all I have to do, is get the guts to ask her on the date and I just back to her
"Hey" she said smiling
"Sorry about that" I said
"It's fine!" She said smiling my gosh its always gets me
"So I was wondering"
"Yesss" she said looking at me
"I kinda I don't know, starting to develop a crush on you, so I was wondering, will you go on a date with me?" I asked and taking a relief breath
"Sure" she said smiling
"Friday night?" I asked and she nodded today has been a really good day and we just continue to talk and everything I am so glad I met her.
