The young woman's now pale body slumped to the ground in the dark alley. The man who had enticed her back here was now walking off. He used his coat sleeve to clean any remaining blood off of his teeth before his face contorted back to its usual shape. Jared Brody was enjoying his newfound freedom. He appreciated Eddie's attempts at curing him and, for the most part, it had been successful. Jared was able to move without the restriction of a wheelchair, and he felt as energetic as a child once again. Of course, despite this, Eddie hadn't perfected the treatment. Jared still needed to 'snack' every now and then. At first, it was more out of compulsion, this unrelenting need to taste human blood. Now it had become habit. He carried on walking down the street past a travel agency offering a variety of deals for holidays this summer.
"Florida... Yes, Florida sounds nice," he said to himself, turning up the collar of his tan trench coat before sauntering down the moonlit road, a spring in his step, whistling a tune to keep himself amused. At least for now.
