Scotland yard, London
Peggy rushed through the station doors and headed straight towards the desk sergeant. "Sergeant Miller?" she asked.
"Yes Ma'am. Mr Canterbury is in interview room one. As per your request no one has interacted with him since his arrival."
"And Yates?"
Sergeant Miller simply shook his head as Peggy made her way down the corridor to the first interview room. She had text the other Deadbeat members, but it looked like she was the first to arrive. Peggy decided she couldn't leave it any longer, she needed to go in.
Entering the grey room, Peggy sat on the opposite side of the metal table facing Jack Canterbury. The multi-billionaire looked bedraggled, his usually smooth face unkempt with stubble with heavy black bags hanging from his eyes. Looking up at Peggy, Jack attempted to smile, his lip quivering slightly as he did.
"Detective Parker," he said slowly, "I believe this is the first chance we've had to become properly acquainted. We have a lot to talk about."
