I Let Her Go...

Chapter 4

It's half past midnight and I can't sleep! I went on my laptop cause I haven't seen my phone ever since Matty came by, speaking of him, I see that he's online. I obviously didn't message him,but he requested to video chat.

*video chat*
Matty: hey
Alison: hi
Matty: can't sleep?
Alison: no, what about you?
Matty: no...

He starts to hesitate and continues,

I can't stop thinking about you and what happened!
Alison: I can't stop thinking about it either!
Matty: anyways, I bet you that the girls will ask you what we were talking about!
Alison: no they won't
Matty: that's because you will
Alison: no I won't
Matty: oh yes you will
I giggled
Matty: I miss hearing that laugh
Alison: stop
Matty: (giggles) what?
Alison: I got to go
Matty: okay, night
Alison: night
Matty: ....

After that call, I knew he wanted to say something. I mean I didn't expect him too, but I really wished he did. I start to daze off wondering what he's thinking about....

Matty's p.o.v
Oh my god, that was terrible. "Okay, night" really, smooth move ding dong! Great, I'm talking to myself!  The good thing about it, is that, I got to see her smile again and hear that sweet voice! I remembered the first time I ever made her laugh...

Flashback:
We walked into our L.A class in 7th grade, and we didn't set a deal on who's turn to sit on the second to the last desk next to the window. I remembered that weird look that she gave me, I smiled at her while she says
Alison: it's my turn
I laughed and clearly said that it was my turn. We had a little debate but she had a cute and tiny heart to let me have that seat.I saw the fierce and an angry look in her eyes, but I turned around and smiled making her smile even though she tried hard to stay mad at me.
I leaned my head against the wall and spent the entire time talking to her and admiring her voice. Class was over and we walked out together; in the hallway I could see her smiling. She grabbed my hand and asked me something. I didn't quite get what she asked for. But as she walked away with that smile, it felt like I just used up my last breath.
I remember that day like it was just yesterday. All that matter to me was how great of a person she was and how she was changing, nothing else mattered. I wonder what she's up to??

*back to Alison's house*

I asked the girls have they seen my phone once I woke up. They all looked weird and suspicious, but I know they're dying to know what happened.

Recap to last night:
Kennedy: here, here use my slippers!
Alison: okay?

As I went out, Kennedy slipped my phone into my robe pocket, recording my whole entire conversation with Matty. When I came back from the walk with Matty, everyone was "sleeping", so I went to sleep; like for an hour. In the morning when I was still sleeping the girls went to check the phone. They heard the conversation but it only got to the part when he asked me. I came out with all of them waiting for me at the door. For a second, I thought they wouldn't want to know and he was right, I had the urge to tell them. The thing that got me was that, they weren't all that thrilled when I mentioned the part where we talked, except when he asked me and the result. I realized that they eased dropped and wanted to see how far they could go if I mislead them. I told them that my answer was no, they all were bum except Kennedy. She knew the MALISONE, ship didn't end that way or that it shouldn't end up like that.

We went back to school, Matty and I have been closer than ever. We stayed by each other's side and he sat next to me at lunch as well. The only time we had a time apart was our last class, he had health and I have p.e. When I was on my way to p.e, I ran into Sam alone. I wanted to check what was wrong but Matty and I are getting close. Never mind, I'll check him when I change to do my laps; I only did as friends. It took me 5 minutes to change, hopefully he's still there. I ran the same route I came and he was still there.

Our conversation:
Alison: hey sam, what's wrong?
Sam: I don't think you would want to know!
Alison: I'm here as a friend to support, so what's wrong?
Sam: I just broke up with my girlfriend, she found about us, but the worst part was that she cheated on me way before that happened
Alison: aww, it's okay there's plenty of fishes out there!

I hugged him for his comfort and he breaks into tears and we continue to talk,
Sam: at the time she cheated, I loved you
Alison: things happen for a reason, not everything would come easy
Sam: I just wish that...
Alison: that what?

Sam leans in to kiss me, but I moved my head and he kissed my cheek. I felt sad on how he found the dirty secrets about his girlfriend.

Alison: I'm sorry
Sam: don't pity me
Alison: I'm not, I'm saying I'm sorry cause things are complicated as it is!
Sam: how so?
Alison: to the point where no one could take it anymore!
Sam: thanks Ali, I guess I needed some cheering up and advice!
Alison: anytime
Sam: freshman prom is just around the corner, will you go with me?

I felt bad, he just broke up with his girlfriend and is all alone. What should I do or what should I say? I can't just leave him hanging in thin are, I had to think fast, but you wouldn't believe what I said.

Alison: sure
