Chapter 8

Matty's p.o.v.

After that devastating event of Alison and Sam's day, I can't think anymore. Why did she say yes to him? I thought she still liked me, but I thought wrong! I skipped school today to go to my doctors appointment. I've been texting Robin all day, checking what I've missed!

*phone conversation*
M: hey rob, can you do me a favor and put down what I've missed today?
R: sure but you haven't missed much, we're pretty much going over stuff from last week!
M: oh
R: yeah, so how are you?
M: my doctors appointment went okay
R: I'm not talking about that
M: I know you weren't but thanks for asking
R: how you are so calm?
M: I don't want to talk about it rob
R: but..
M: I mean it, she chose him and now they're together
R: what if she said no
M: and even if she did, I just can't believe she said yes
R: you two will always be my OTP!!
M: whatever I got to go
R: okay see you later at my house at 7 for poker night right?
M: yeah okay bye

I lied on my bed thinking about Alison and her new boyfriend. Ugh, why him? I wished I didn't have these commitment issues and then I'll still be with her! FREAK!

"Are you okay son?" My mom asked, "I'm fine, just looking for stuff before I leave to go to Robin's" I replied.

"Okay honey, make sure you don't stay out late" she told me.

"Whatever mom, bye I love you" I said as I exit the door!

"I love you too sweetie have fun" she replied .

As I headed to Robin's, I bumped into the two people I was hoping not to run into. Sam had his arm around Alison and they were feeding each other their ice cream that they got from cold stone. I pretended I was on the phone to save myself from a chat but it didn't work!

"Hey Matty, are you going to Robs?" Alison asked.

"Uh yeah, I'm talking to him as we speak" I replied!

"Hey rob" Sam and Alison said in sync.

"He says hi, but I really have to go bye now" I suggested.

"Okay but are you coming to...." She tried to ask

"Bye" I yelled.

Ugh, out of all couples, I had to run into them. Anyways, I made it to Robs house an hour early to help set up. Our gang came an hr later because they had a performance at school.

We started to play and then my phone kept buzzing Alison's name! Alex looked at me and started to get frustrated. "Text the damn chick, she going to keep messaging you until she finds out you're dead" he yelled at me.

" I can't and I won't" I suggested.

"Why not, you two are best friends?" Sarah asked.

"Because" I replied.

"Because why?" Ava butted in

"Because I don't want to deal with her and her new relationship with Sam okay, there I've said it!" I yelled

"Calm down Felicia, no one is getting mad at you!" Ava suggested.

" I know and I'm sorry, I just hate to think that they're together" I said.

"Why when you two did break up in the first place?" Jolene asked.

" yeah I know but I hate to see her with him or any guy of that matter!" I implied.

"But don't you want your friend to be happy" Sarah suggested.

I put down my quad of kings and said " then I guess we're not friends"

Everyone looked at me in surprise as I went to the kitchen. Ava came in and sat on a stool. "Okay, why are you acting this way?" She asked

I turned around and said " because I don't want to see her happy with a backstabber"

"One, you two broke up and two, what's the whole problem with you against Sam?" She asked again.

"He knew I liked her, he knew we went out and he definitely knew we had something special. Plus, he didn't come and asked if I was okay with it which I'm not!" I implied.

" but you have no right to be angry, you should just let it go and focus on who's the right girl for you" she suggested.

" you don't get it do you?" I asked

"Get what?" She responded

"You don't get how it feels to feel the way I feel towards Alison. You don't know her well as I do?" I told her

"Okay that hurt but tell me why you know her best than I do" she asked

"Did you know that she blushes when she holds in her smile, did you know she has 6 different smiles, did you know what when she's hiding something she always bites her lip and did you know she feels insecure about everything everyday?" I raised my voice.

"No" Ava said hesitantly

"Did you know that she gave up her special necklace just to get you something for your birthday?" I yelled

"I can't believe she did that?" She implied

" yeah she told me not to tell you, see this is why I didn't want to talk about it cause i know I will get emotional and raise my voice" I suggested.

"Okay, tell me her six smiles to calm you down" she asked

"How is that going to help?" I replied

"Just do it" she insisted.

"Fine, 1. Her small smile is when she's unsure of everything, 2. Her medium smile is when she's just being nice, 3. When she smiles going to her laugh, you know she's happy, 4. Her smirk is when she's going into her competitive stage, 5. The smile and roll her eye thing is when she means it, and her 6. Is when she forces her smile that means she isn't in the mood"

"Wow I never knew you felt that way about her" Ava said.

" yeah, but now it all changes because she's with someone else" he exclaimed.

" have you talked to her about it?" She asked

~someone knocks on the door~

I clearly shook my head and made my way to answer the door. Just a few inches as I opened the door, you wouldn't believe who was at the door. "Alison?" I asked
Her face was so red, she almost passed for a tomato! "Uh, what are you doing here?" I continued, "why haven't you been answering my text messages?" She asked.

"I had a lot things my mind" I replied.

"A lot on your mind huh? I hope you figure those things that are so clearly important to you than me!" She yelled

"They're important because it is you!" I said hesitantly,

"What?" She said shockingly, "no this can't be happening!"

"Well it is, if you can't handle it then leave because you knew I was going to be!" I suggested.

She left with tears, I wanted to go after her but then I've cause too much problems for her!
