Chapter 7

Matty's p.o.v.

The next day...

I've searched and searched for Sam but I couldn't find him anywhere. I'll find him later but when I went to go sit with Alison at the bench in the morning as promised, she didn't look so excited to see me, although I wonder if she'll ever tell me that he asked her out. We sat on the bench with silence and ever since that whole thing that happened between Sam and her, it kills me that she wouldn't mention a single word about it. Her smile says otherwise. I can't help but think or have the feeling that Sam, my closes friend that I've made this school year, has stabbed me in the back by asking the one person I care about, without even asking for my consent.

I replayed that thought in my mind and knew I started to get a little crazy! Him coming to talk to me about it would of been fine, but he still has no right to ask her out without me knowing.

It was lunch and I finally saw him but with another girl. It was hard to tell cause the crowd was getting bigger by the minute. To me she looked like one of those bad news people. I sat there by Alison's side and waited for Sam to get up and leave. When I took my eyes off him for a second, he finally got up. I whispered in Alison's ear stating I'll be back.

Alison's p.o.v.

I see that Matty is coming my way to sit next to me, which I was hoping he forgot about his promise. We sat there like we were strangers. Matty has never looked so eager for me to speak in a while, but I know he wants me to talk about what happened yesterday.

~bell rings~

He walked me to class as usual but he was so very close to me like if something bad were to happen. As I looked up at him, his  attention was somewhere else. Is he looking for who I think he's looking for? Ugh, I don't care anymore, I'm tired with all this drama that's been happening in this school!

It was first period and I really didn't want to be in there cause Sam was in my class!

Class has started and I can't help but notice that Sam keeps staring at me. I shook my head and payed attention to the teacher. "Okay class find a partner and put your desks together!" The teacher announces.

You've got to be kidding me, I hope Sam doesn't ask me to be his partner. All of a sudden I heard my name from left to right from these two girls. The teacher insist for me to pick one of them, but I said why don't they pair up themselves with each other. They both didn't like my decision but went with it anyways. As I turned around, there he was, Sam Johnson. Standing right before my eyes, everything went quiet and my eyes started to turn white, then (snap) "hello, earth to Alison!" Robin said. I blinked and started to focus.

"Yes Robin?" I asked, "will you be my partner, Kennedy isn't here today" he responded.

I looked around and saw that Sam was with Audrana. In relief, I said yes joyfully.
30 minutes later, Robin and I were done with the assignment and I could not help but think what Sam was thinking about after I ran off.

Lunch

I met up with the gang and sat at our usual spot. We started talking about this movie that one of the teachers brought up for extra credit as well as service learning hours!

We all agreed to go but then as I looked at Matty again, his attention wasn't on what we were talking about. I looked at where he was looking at and he was staring at Sam. He whispered to me that he'll be back but knowing him, I know where he was going!

So after he left, I left 5 mins after to see what he was up too!

Matty's p.o.v.

I made my way to Sam out of the cafe. I saw that he had company but then I asked to steal him away. I took to him to the one place where no one can't hear us nor see us... the library!

I can sense that Sam was a bit nervous about what I was going to say, which he should be because he was going after my best friend but then shows affection for another girl!

Our conversation:
S: why am I here?
M: because you got some explaining to do!
S: what do you mean, I've got nothing to tell?
M: are you sure? Do you want me to bring it up for you?
S: if the shoe fits then yeah!
M: fine, why did you ask out Alison?
S: why can't I, it's a free country?!
M: because you know for a fact that we had a thing!
S: and so what, you're not doing anything about it!
M: that's because I have some issues that I need to take care of.
S: awe poor baby, someone can't handle their problems on their own!
M:  oh hush it Johnson, why ask out Alison when you clearly like Shontelle?
S: can't a guy dream!
M: not really
S: why do you care anyways, you broke up with her? Wait... Awe you still have feelings for her don't you!
M: so what if I still like her, she still likes me!
S: you need to live in reality my friend and if you can't then you'll be hurting the ones you love.
M: am I living in reality because the girl I like, likes me back!
S: you wanna bet, if she says yes to my offer you have to back off and do my homework for two months!
M: and if she says no
S: then she's all yours
M: fine you're on

We shook hands and walked out of the library, not only to see that Alison was right outside of the doors! Sam looked at me and then pulled Alison to the side. I walked away knowing she'll say know. When I was 7 feet away, I heard a loud yes from Sam. I turned around and looked at her with disappointment.

Alison's p.o.v.

When I exit out of the cafe, I started to look around for Matty and Sam. Where the heck did they go? I went from group to group asking have they seen them but no one knew. I called both of their phones, but I forgot they left it in the class.

I stopped and had a blonde moment for a few minutes, and then I thought like Matty. If I need to talk to someone, where would i go? Hmm... The library, of course!

I made my way there just minutes to find out both of them came out. I saw Matty first with a smirk and then Sam. He pulled me to the side and I saw Matty walk away. Is this happening again? Is he asking me out again? " Alison Peterson will you be my girlfriend?" He asked. I looked at Matty and remembered he smirked at me, so that means he's fine cause they talked. Oh i don't know what to do! I looked at Matty one more time, and then I looked at Sam. I took a deep breathe in and said yes. He jumped up and down then carried me. As he set me down, I looked at Matty and his reaction made me feel I was the villain!
