Chapter 3. Sucks to suck Kelen

I stare out my window planning my revenge for Kelen Matthews. Hmm. Revenge is harder than it looks. I could put poison in his food... No too far... I could put pudding in his shoes... No to childish. Then it hits me. Revenge is going to be sweet.

After school today I went straight to my room and didn't come out. I didn't want to run into my dad. My mom hasn't barely moved since we got the news of Spencer's death. I had to force food into her mouth. Ya, today was not a good day. Maybe tomorrow will be a little better.

**

I walked into school and went straight to home room. My home room was with Mr. Porky, the art teacher. That made my plan for revenge ten times more easy.

**

The bell rang and students flooded into the room. The only one I noticed was Kelen. His eyes caught mine and he instantly looked away. He went to the farthest spot away from me. Like usual and sat down. A humongous grin crept onto my face and I'm sure some people thought I was crazy by the stares I was getting.

My plan is working out perfectly. I worked on my homework but I barely got a question done because I was to distracted. Waiting for the bell to ring and my plan to finally come into place.

"Ring" the bell screamed and everyone got up. Then Kelen did.

"Hey Kelen looks like you got your period!" A guy yelled across the room. Everyone burst out laughing especially me.

"Huh?" He looked down at his jeans now covered with red paint, then at the chair.

"You son of a bitch!" He yelled at me.

"Oh crap." I said while running out of the room. I didn't plan this far ahead. He wasn't suppose to know it was me. I ran like my life depended on it, probably cause it did.

I turned the corner and ran straight to the woman's bathroom. My breathing has increased by a lot. I splashed my face with water. Then the door flew open.

"Um you're not suppose to be in here." I said with a shaky voice.

"Do I look like I give a damn." Kelen said infuriated. I ran into a stall and locked the door. That didn't help. Kelen crawled through the bottom and stood up right against me. His arm up about to punch me with all his might. I looked away preparing for impact but it never came.

I looked up at Kelen. Searching his eyes for something. Sympathy maybe. But I have to admit he is really hard to read.

"A-are you going to punch me?" I asked still a little shaken.

"No." He whispers.

"Why not?"

He gives me a puzzled look. "Do you want me to?"

"No." I mumble. We stand there awkwardly for a little bit until the bell rings signally we should be in class.

"Well I should go." I say trying to make my way past him.

He holds out his arm stopping me. "Where are you going." He asks me.

"Um to class."

"No, your going to buy me a new pair of pants." He says sternly.

"You're not serious are you?"

"Dead serious."

"Right now?!"

He opens the stall door as a couple of girls walk in. They gasp a little at the sight of Kelen then start giggling at his pants.

"Kelen did you come here to get a tampon?" One girl says.

"I have a quarter if you need one." Another girl says.

He grabs my wrist and pulls me out of the bathroom. He leads me down the halls and through the double doors to his car.

"Get in." He says sternly.

"Only if you have candy." I cross my arms and stomp my foot like a little kid.

I thought I saw him smile for a second but it quickly diminished. He smoothly got into the drivers seat and I got in the passenger side.

"So where are we going?" I ask slouching down in my chair. My dad is not going to be happy. But he wishes I was dead so what do I care.

"To a clothing store." He replies and starts the car.

We drove for fifteen minutes and got to the mall.

"Kelen why did we go to the mall. We could've gotten pants anywhere."

"I know." He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out. "You coming." He leaned his head into the car before shutting his door.

I rubbed my forehead and got out of the car. My life is officially over. I followed Kelen into the mall. I looked down at his pants and started laughing all over again. But I quickly stopped because Kelen gave me a death glare.

We went straight for Hollister where Kelen bought some jeans. Then he went to the bathroom to try them on. I waited outside the bathroom waiting for him to come out.

"Aren't you suppose to be in school miss?" I jumped and looked over at the voice to see a mall cop.

"Um well. We have today off. Parent teacher conferences, yeah."

"Ma'am there's only two school in this town and they're both going on right now." Crap.

"Well um I'm homeschooled and we have today off." Just go with it cop!

"So your homeschool has parent teacher conferences?"

"Yes." I locked my jaw annoyed by the cop, and by the fact Kelen isn't out yet.

As if on cue Kelen walked out of the bathroom.

"Is there a problem?" Kelen asked the mall cop.

"No just get back to school Kelen."

"Yes sir." With that Kelen grabbed my hand and pulled me away.

"Who was that?" I asked eyeing him up and down.

"No one." He mumbled.

"Well apparently he was someone. How'd he know your name?"

"God dammit Stephanie shut the hell up for once in your life!" He yelled at me.

I ripped my hand away from his. Taken back by his words.

"I'm Steph it's just," he sighed, "wanna get a smoothie?" He smiled slightly at me. Why does he make it so hard to be made at him!

"Sure." I mumbled.

He lead us into the cafeteria where the smoothie stand was.

"What do you want?" He asked me.

"I don't care. Whatever you're getting."

While he ordered I looked behind me at a girl who was starring directly at us. She looked vaguely familiar.

I was about to put my finger on it but my thoughts were interrupted by Kelen stuffing a smoothie into my face.

He lead me to a table in the middle of the cafeteria. I took I drink of my smoothie and looked at Kelen. He was focused on the girl behind us.

"Be right back." He said and walked towards her. I gave him a confusing look but he kept walking. I directed my attention back to my smoothie. I took another drink. I gulped it down and felt burning in my neck. I looked at my smoothie. It was a strawberry smoothie. How could I be so stupid, I'm allergic to strawberries!

I gasped for air. My throat was closing.

"Kelen!" It wasn't loud enough for him to hear.

I fell off my chair making a loud bang. I put my hands on my throat gathering all the air I could get.

"Kelen!" I said one last time.

The last thing I saw was Kelen running towards me before I blacked out.
