I leaped off the railing, the wind blowing through the short tousles of my brown hair, "Kid!" Grunkle Stan shouted, eyes enlightened as he outstretched his arms in an attempt to catch me. I couldn't help, but smile at the look on his face. He's always been tough on me, uncaring, perhaps? It felt like my Grunkle was actually happy to see me for once, and that he genuinely cared about me. My body plummeted towards the waters, the pressure of air tightening all around me. Just before I was about to break the smooth surface of the water, a warm feeling grazed my skin. I saw a rope-like line of blue fire wrapped around my ankle, tightening too tight for comfort. I yelped as Stan tried to grab me, but I was flayed back up like a bungee cord.

With frustration, I tried to undo the fiery knot, but I flinched once my fingers grazed it. My hands were tingling, and the tips of my fingers were darker, and they stung... probably burnt. The fiery rope didn't hurt my ankle, I guess... I wasn't accustomed with fire very well, since flames in the ocean is rather rare. However, I believed fire would be red or orange, not blue. I knew who the blue flames belonged to and I crossed my arms as I was pulled up to face him. I didn't want to see that cocky grin one more time.

I saw that single golden eye first, then realized he was upside down? Oh wait, no I was hanging upside down. I began to feel dizzier, with all the blood rushing to my head. Stan was still shouting, ordering Bill to unhand me, or something. My eyes followed the blue fire which lead to the tip of Bill's finger was the source of the blue fire, he wagged his finger, moving me with each finger motion.

"...hey! Stop that!" I yelled, trying to stay focused, but my head was jerked left and right, my dagger slipping from it's holder, hitting the ground with a clang in the process.

Bill rested his other hand on a crate behind him, eye focused on me. I shivered.

"I really didn't want to use my powers, but you've proved quite difficult to maintain." the captain growled, sighing dramatically.

I rolled my eyes at him, "Well maybe you can save yourself some work and stop 'maintaining' Mabel and I!" I retorted, pointing a finger at him.

"Alright." Bill said bluntly.

I blinked multiple times, obviously confused, "What?" I asked quietly.

The captain smiled deviously, "I've tried to maintain the two of you, but obviously," Bill paused briefly, "you two don't need to be together anymore." he smiled, tilting his head to the side, whilst waiting for my reaction.

I don't know what kind of expression I had, probably something of pure fear. I always got all nervous and sweaty if someone was able to get under my skin, or say the right words. Mabel was one of them. The thought of not being with Mabel scared me. It really did. What did he mean by that though? I racked my brain for the possibilities, but there was only one conclusion; he was going to split us up!

"You can't do that!" I finally shouted, my voice fearful, losing the confidence and strength it once had.

Bill just smiled. It lacked sympathy or compassion. Just a cold, generic smile. I hung there silently, unable to come up with anything to say.

Bill then flicked his wrist, dropping me to the ground. I hit the deck, my elbows took most of the weight. I hissed at the sudden pain, rubbing my arms, then shooting an angry glare at him.

He kneeled down so that our faces were inches apart. He traced a finger over my revealed birthmark, staring at it with interest. I tried to scoot away, but the railing stopped me. I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks, and I honestly hated how close he was.

Bill then spoke, "This isn't any ordinary pirate ship." he stated, gesturing to all the crewsmen that had miraculously survived my families attack.
