(A/N: WOW. HOW DO YOU HAVE TWO BIRTHDAYS IN ONE DAY?! THAT's UNHEARD OF-!!! Well, guess you deserve another chapter, HAHA!)
"How much do you know?" Bill asked, yellow irises on his.
The brunette paled at the seriousness in the captain's expression, and he replied quietly, "I know... that I'm a siren." he muttered, watching carefully for any reaction from Bill.
The boy swallowed, "I know... that I turned away my family..."
The blonde continued to stare, as if urging him to continue.
"And I know... you haven't been entirely honest with me." he finished, keeping his expression neutral- despite his brain screaming at him that he was going to die by a thousand burning suns.
The captain was quiet, realizing the boy had said his piece, and he was now devoid of any emotion.
Kind of eerie, if Dipper had to comment.
The ship was then the object of Dipper's attention. He watched the ropes that connected to the sails tighten and loosen from the wind. The mast billowing slowly in the breeze, the creak of the wheel as it turned a notch to the left, he just couldn't get enough of this ship.
Yep...
This ship...
So...
...interesting...
The boy snuck a glance at Bill, eyes placid, and in deep thought.
Minutes passed.
Bill then took a step forward, using a finger to tilt the boy's chin up.
"Why haven't you fled?" he asked simply, voice of pure confusion.
"I..." the boy started, all the reasons for staying devoid from his mind, "I... like you?" he said, before realizing what he said.
"I mean! I like the adventures we've been having... the crew... charting new land... not like, you... in particular." Dipper corrected, mentally patting himself on the back for the clutch save.
The blonde tilted his head, "I'm perplexed." he muttered, "I forcibly ripped you from your family, you know?" he said, matter-of-factly.
"Oh." the boy didn't know that.
Dipper said it suddenly, not thinking much of it, "It's okay. I forgive you." he said, with a small smile.
"What?! You? You forgive me? I erased your freaking memories!", eyes widening at a piece of information he hadn't intended to share.
Bill sighed, "Ugh, whatever." the blonde groaned, "I tried to drown you, tried to take your sister and sell her to some whacky sea urchin, tried to kill your entire family, tried to brainwash you... do YOU still forgive me?!" the blonde came clean, basically seething at this point.
The boy was taken back by all the things he was telling him, but he persisted, "First- wow, you're an ass." he said, "Second... I think I still forgive you."
Bill snapped, "SINCE WHEN WERE YOU A HERO- PINE TREE?" he shouted, then tightened his grip on his chin, "IT IS WEAK TO BE A HERO, KID."
The boy flinched at the sudden roughness, eyes widening at the captain.
He was staring at him with not an angry expression, but a seriously strained expression. He looked pained. Like he was going to break at a moments notice.
What was so wrong?
"I'm not weak, Bill." he answered, grabbing the blonde's wrist.
The blonde seemed to smile sadly at that, "I COULD END YOU RIGHT HERE, PINE TREE.", he said, tracing a finger against the side of the boy's exposed neck, "EVEN BETTER, I COULD PLAGUE YOUR MIND SO INTRICATELY THAT YOU'D END YOURSELF."
