I'm really sad because I dropped my iPad and the screen broke :( I am also extremely sorry that I haven't made an update in forever!!! enjoy chapter 11!
"Everyone get out of they way! Move! People need to get to the airport!" The man driving us yelled out of the car at the people who where gathered around the streets.
I haven't spoken a word since we were picked up from the hospital. My eyes were always somewhere else. Looking outside hoping to catch Harry wandering around searching for us. Maybe seeing him helping someone else or even to see his dead body would be better than seeing nothing.
Liam's hand protectively squeezed mine. I turned and looked into his tiered eyes. I rested my head on his shoulder and stared straight ahead.
"We will be home soon. This will all be over soon baby. I'm so sorry." Liam whispered in my ear.
I stroked my thumb over his hand and remained silent. He caught on that I wasen't talking any time soon, so he just let me be.
The van pulled up to a gated area that I was assuming was the airport or landing place.
"Come with me! Stay together, and I have to warn you we have to pass through...um....where we are keeping the identified bodies for pickup so they can be sent back to the their homes. I'm sorry but it's the only way through."
We all shifted nervously at his words, but Liam nodded and followed the man through the gate.
"Char, I have to go and ask him some questions about the plane ride. Please stay with Niall and Abby."
I nodded and let go of his hand, suddenly feeling very alone. I run over to Niall and replace Liam's with his. He looks surprised at first, but encloses his hand with mine and gives me a warm smile. I want to return it, but I know I would probably make some gross face so I just nod and continue after Liam.
Abby is on my left and clings to my arm as we see what no one should ever have to encounter. Bodies. Hundreds or even thousands of them lined up next to each other with name tags attached to the sheets covering them. There were so many different sizes. Some looked small enough to be toddlers.
Tears ran down my cheeks as I tried to contain my sobs. Abby ran after to Liam since he was farther ahead than the rest of us. My body starts shaking uncontrollably as I continue to cry. Niall lifts me up and carries me bridal style through the rest of the area.
"Shh, Charlie it's ok. Just stop looking. You don't need to look." He whispers in my ear.
I bury my head in the crook of his neck and try to settle my breathing.
I must look like such a freak. I couldn't help but think.
A couple minutes later, I feel Niall start to shift and I pull my head up. We are now at the landing platform and there is a small plane waiting for us. Liam looks at me and holds out his hand. I hop from Niall's arms and run over to him. He pulls me into him and starts to get in the air craft.
"I asked the guy who drove us here if he had heard of Harry. He said he doesn't recall the name belonging to one of the bodies here."
I wasen't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Harry could be alive somewhere, or they just haven't found his body. I twiddle with my hands, not looking up.
We get on the plane to find food, clothes, water, and letters from family and friends. I realized then that I had never called Harry's family. Guilt washed over me as I ran up to Liam.
"Hey, do they have a phone or something on here? I really need to make a call." My voice didn't even sound like it belonged to me. It sounded cold and hollowed.
He turns around and gives me a cell phone, "I thought you called your parents?"
"Yea...I did. It's not for me." I answered, my pitch sounding very monotone.
He looked at me like I was a stranger, maybe I was, but he handed me the phone and I took off with it before he could say another word.
I sat if the farthest seat in the back of the plane. Dialing Harry's home number was one of the hardest things I've had to do in a long time. After two rings, a panicked voice answered.
"Hello? Hello!?"
"Mrs. Styles? It's...it's Charlotte."
"Charlotte," she started to cry "I haven't heard from any one! Harry, where's Harry?"
Tears began to gather in my eyes again. I had to be strong.
"Charlotte? Dear are you still..."
"Yes, Mrs. Styles. I'm still here."
"Where is Harry, dear?"
"He...he's....I'm so sorry. Harry isn't with us."
The line went silent on the other end. I started to panic thinking she had fainted or something. That was until the cries came.
"My baby...my baby..." She mumbled through the tears.
I got up and gave the phone to Abby.
"I can't. I can't do this anymore. Please Ab, you have to talk to Harry's mom."
She paled but nodded as I left her to talk. Liam was sitting with Niall next to her with a sad look on his face. But come to think of it, the look seems to be there all the time. Niall got up and sat in the seat next to Abby without speaking. I climbed next to Liam, putting my head in his lap.
"Shut the door. Turn the light off. I wanna be with you. I wanna feel your love..." Liam quietly hummed into my ear.
I let my eye lids drop and my mind wander, and for the first time in a while, I slept peacefully.
GAHH! I am so so SO sorry I haven't updated in so long! It's just been a very busy month! I have an audition for Narnia tomorrow and I'm so scared! Wish me luck! Xx
