I was at work at the small Italian restaurant I've been a hostess at for almost a year now. I was bagging a to go order and put it on the to go table. I walked up to the front and stocked pizza boxes. The front door opened and I put my smile on.

And I saw the most horrifying this that I just had to let break my heart at school every day. Ethan with his girlfriend walked in hand in hand. I dropped the boxes that were in my hand and my face flushed. The sound of the boxes dropping on the floor made them turn and look at me.

"Oh hey y/n! I didn't know you worked here!" His girlfriend, Meg said.

"She's worked here for almost a year now! Right?" Ethan said smiling at me. I felt a lump in my throat. They looked so good together. She was everything I wasn't....
"How would you know that Et-" she started. But she was cut off.
"Y/n! Seat them at a table!" The other hostess said.

I avoided eye contact with them and walked over to an emptied table with them right behind me.

I sat them and quickly walked back up into the front, breathing heavily and sweating.

"Who was that?" One of the waitresses asked me.

"No one..." I said looking at her and then walking away.

Unfortunately for me, in the back of the restaurant you can look out into the whole dinning room and see everyone. So I couldn't help but watch them eat the whole hour they were there. I was locked in my thoughts as I helped person after person, hopping I wouldn't have to help Ethan and his girlfriend with their bill.

They walked up to the front and I was under the desk trying to get a pen that I dropped.

"Ehh hem!" I heard a girls voice say.

I looked up and jumped when I saw their faces.

"Hey, can you do his card?" She asked, chewing gum annoyingly.

"Yeah sure" I said smiling, I looked at Ethan and he was smiling at me. But my smile faded away as his girlfriend wrapped her arms around his waist from the side and pulled him close. She gave me a death glare. I just rolled my eyes and swiped his card. I gave them their receipt and Ethan took it out of my hand, our fingers brushed together and I felt myself blush again. I looked up and him and he had a smile on his face. The smile that he would give me in the hallway and when I would watch him during football practice. Yeah, my friend and I would go to his football practices to watch the guys and talk about them, she would talk about other guys but I would zone out and just watch Ethan do his thing!

I let go quickly as I saw his girlfriend pull him to the exit. He kept eye contact with me till he was all the way out the door.

Ethan's POV:

Y/n looked so cute in her uniform. I totally forgot she worked there! I couldn't stop thinking about her the whole time I was there. Meg was talking to me but I zoned out and just thought about how beautiful she looked walking through the school, or to her car. Or the way her face scrunches up when she is concentrating on class.

I've had a crush on her for a long time! But Meg  and I are dating cuz we look good together at school and everyone wants us to. She likes me, but I'm just into y/n. I couldn't stop looking at her in the restaurant. She was so beautiful. I hope I didn't freak her out by looking at her! I had to go back in and get her number! I wasn't gunna pass up another chance to talk to her.

"Hey Meg, I left something in there, go to the car. I'll be right back" I said running back into the restaurant.

"What did you leave?" She asked annoyed. But I ignored her.

I opened the door and looked at the front desk. And she was still there. She seemed shocked to see me there again.

"Hey" I said trying t catch my breath. I was nervous.

"Hey, did you forget something?" She asked smiling.

"No, I mean YES!" I said catching myself. I was totally blowing this.

"Do you need my help?" She asked looking confused. I started to sweat. Come on Ethan, just do it. Just ask her. Grow some balls and a-

"I just-can...have the, number....the ugh..." I chocked out. I just blew it. She smiled at me and chucked.

"What?" She asked laughing at me.

"I ugh....can I just, can I ask you out?" I asked resting my elbows on the counter top. Well that didn't go as planed, but it got the message across.

She smiled at me and looked around. Her face got red and she played with her fingers. She looked down and smiled really big.

"Ugh....yeah. Yeah you can" she said looking up at me. I felt my face light up and I just looked at her beautiful face.

Your POV:

Wtf is even going on! Ethan Dolan wants to ask me out! I could totally tell he was nervous. But that's okay! I would be too if I asked him out. He was being so cute, I couldn't help but laugh at him.

I wrote down my number on a piece of paper and slid it to him.

He smiled and took it, not looking away from me.

"Isn't Kate waiting for you?" I asked looking at the door.

"She can wait" he said winking at me. That was it. I was on full on blush mode. And I couldn't stop it. I officially fell for him.
