By three o'clock, I made sure Leah and I were back from our walk and at her house, as I said to Calum I would go to his family's barbecue this evening. When I got to Calum's house, it was three thirty and there were a lot more people there than I thought there would be. Calum and two other guys called Tony and Jayden called me over to them,

"Man I didn't think you would actually come, good to see ya," Calum said from where he was sat on top of the fence surrounding the property,

"You wanna drink mate?" I noticed how Calum, Tony and Jayden all had Coronas in their hands,

"Nah, I don't drink,"

"Oh sorry, I just thought you might have, I mean your Mum is pretty-,"

"Yeah I know, but I'd like to think I take after my Dad more."

I pulled myself up onto the fence, which couldn't of been more than two meters high, and sat next to Calum. We spent the evening throwing sausages as people and laughing as Jayden fell off of the fence (which happened multiple times as a result of him drinking three coronas). Surprisingly, I actually had a really good time. When everyone else had left, there was only my Mum, myself, Calum and his family left. Calum's Mum asked me to try and get Calum to his room, which thankfully didn't involve him getting up stairs, as he had moved his bedroom downstairs since I had last been here. He also had had three coronas and a sip of a random lady's wine glass (which he was dared to do by Tony). As I got him into his room, I noticed several posters on his walls of boxers (mainly John Cena), and rugby and soccer players.

"Richie McCaw is literally the best rugby player of all time," I said, as I pointed at his A3 poster of him,

 "He's hot too," Calum admitted,

"Woah okay, uh I guess,"

"Thanks for coming tonight Michael, it really means a lot," He said groggily as he laid down on his bed, "I really didn't think you would,"

"Why wouldn't I?" I asked,

"Because you normally hang out with your girlfriend on weekends." I stopped admiring his poster wall and turned to face him, confused.

"What do you mean, my girlfriend?"

"Tony told me he saw you with a girl at the carnival last week, and then this afternoon with the same girl. So he said you probably would ditch to hang with her, who is she?"

"No one you know,"

"He said you two looked really happy together, I'd love to meet her. Maybe she has a friend for me," He said, wiggling his eyebrows and grinning at me,

"Maybe one day you can, but for now, you need to sleep and sober up,"

"Mmm goodnight Michael," He mumbled,

"Night mate," I said before flicking the light off in his room and leaving.

Walking into Calum's lounge, I saw my Mum sitting with a glass in her hand, with Calum's Mum sitting beside her,

"You're such a great friend to me Joy," She slurred, before taking another sip of wine,

"You know what Mum, I think that's enough wine for tonight," I said, as I walked over to her and tried to take her glass,

"Fuck off Michael, I can drink if I want to. Don't want to waste a perfectly good glass of wine do we?" She asked,

"I called a taxi for your Mother and you. It should be here in a few minutes," Joy said,

"Thank you and thank you for the barbeque, the food was wonderful," I complimented,

"See, isn't he raised just so well? I think I've taught him a lot of good life lessons, such as to not be an alcoholic," She said, laughing dryly before taking another sip.
