Tyson

"Tyson! Happy birthd–" I quickly covered Krister's mouth before he could form the word "Birthday" even thinking about that word makes me want to hurl,"Don't...Just don't. I'm not going to hear a soul about it, okay?" I asked, as I pulled my palm from his mouth,"What's so bad about it?" He asked, as I barely locked my bedroom door and shut my curtains close from my frustration for this day.

"Don't want to talk about it" I muttered as I plopped myself on my unmade bed.

"Dude, you do this every year! What's got you so bad that you hate this day?" He asked, completely pissed off,"If you value your dignity you will shut up this second" I pointed out,"Tyson...I'm your best friend. You can tell me anyt–" then somebody knocked on the door. I shot out from my bed and opened my door ajar,"Hi Mom" I said, a little apathetically.

"Happy birthday, Ty!" And, there it was. Those two words–cross my nickname–I've been waiting for all day before a wave of Weres mob through my room,"Thanks..." Was all I could say as I opened my door fully,"Your gift is coming soon." She said, pressing a kiss on my cheek,"Ma. You didn't really have to get me anything" I chuckled, flushing pink embarrassingly,"Oh but I want to, truth be told you're my only baby" She said.

"Mom...eighteen? I'm a teenager" I said, as a matter of factly.

"I don't care even if you're all wrinkly or warty! You will always be my little angel" She said, making Krister laugh in the background,"Ah-ha...Okay, Mom. I think you have to go now" I said, basically pushing her out of my room,"Alright...Happy birthday sweetheart. Love you!" She said, before shutting the door close.

"That's one of my reasons why I hate this day" I rolled my eyes.

"Embarrassment?" Krister snickered,"No...Being called a baby" I groaned,"Don't worry...I'll be eighteen too next month" He started,"Then we'll both be a laughingstock" He said,"I don't want to bring you down with me" I quipped,"You won't. Trust me" He said, placing a hand on my shoulder,"Happy to see you concerned about my downfall" I rolled my eyes.

"Hey...You can count on me" He smiled,"Always" He winked,"Ew...You've been hanging out with girls way too long" I said, bending over and I pretended to hurl,"This ain't your place to complain about it" He crossed his arms and huffed,"Well...at least I do hang out with girls" He said, cockily,"Is that a challenge?" I said, with a daring smirk on my face.

"Yeah...I bet you can't last your birthday without hiding inside your room" He said, grinning deviously at me.

"Deal...If you win, I'll do your chores for 2 whole weeks, if I win, you do everything I say likewise" I said, holding my hand out to shake,"Deal...starting. Now!" He said, then in a flash. I bolted out of my room and got engulfed with Weres–both Betas and Omegas–greeting me for my so called "special day."

"Wish you the best, Tyson."

"Happy birthday kiddo!"

"Open my present first, Tyson!"

"Isn't this just peachy?" I muttered under my breath as I managed to squeeze through the Weres around me to get to the living room which turned into a war zone of balloons, food and noisy bodies all around. Just like my mother, I wasn't fond of being the center of attention. Whenever all the eyes were focused on me, I feel like I was having a huge panic attack.

"Krister. Forget the challenge, you win. I–" Just as I planned my escape, my mother shoved something in front of me.

I gazed down and saw a blue box with a silver ribbon wrapped around it,"Don't open it just yet..." She smiled,"O-okay...Sure?" I said dubiously, as I placed it down next to the other paper-wrapped gifts on the table as she sashayed away. Easily squeezing in with the crowd. Then what alarmed me was the banner being pinned on the wall, it was handwritten with huge capital and bold letters saying: HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY TYSON!!!
