Brotherly Love

Weeks pass me and Chase aren't technically together but we're also never apart. We spend all our time together. So Jason said after today's class's he'll take me to the zoo. I kinda started to tell everyone I love the zoo. I've only seen them on tv but I still love the zoo. So many animals.

First up I had training then budy class. I walked to training glad prey month was almost over. I strolled in grabbed my staff and started to prepare myself for the jump.

"Today is saddly the last day of prey month but don't worry maggots. You like that? I heard they use that in the army. Anyway maggots you will be hunting Jason. Good strong prey for the last hunt. NOW JUMP!"

I land gracefully. I open my mind. Please let me find Jason. I find him but he's trying to block me out. Come on Jason you know I'm stronger than that. I try sneaking in with out him noticing. I don't want him distracted from surprise attacks. I could sense his general direction so I started that way.

As I approached I felt his pain and the need for a rush of magic. I run quicker unsure how injured he was. He lets me into his mind. I rounded the corner and dropped to my knees next to him. Someone's discarded body lay near a pile of pipes

"Phi.... I t-t-think I'm d-i-i-ieing."

"Where are you hurt exactly?"

"M-m-my t-t-throat kinda hurts from doing this stupid dieing voice."

I hit him hard on the arm.

"Ow that hurt, I think I broke a rib that's it."

I heal it preparing my worried mother speach.

"You gave me a heart attack! I didn't listen to my powers I was to worried you were actually dieing. Your a jerk you know that?"

I cross my arms and stand up. I turn on my heels. Stupid jerk scaring me like that. It's kinda funny but he still a jerk.

"Phi are minds are still connected."

We laughed he and talked for awhile. He was happier than usual.

"So whats got you so smiley?"

"We'll I meet a girl named Keelan. She needed a guard since her partner passed. So she offered me the job. I said I was waiting on another and there are no promises but I'll do it if the other girl doesn't want me."

"Why are you happy then?"

"Because all my life I've been chasing a girl. I like her so much but she's a royal. Many royal girls have said I'm cute but I need to find a hunter girl to retire with to live the elderly human life style. I've had dreams of this girl running away with me at graduation but... I need to be realistic she royal I'm hunter and mixes rarely survive."

A pang of hurt hits my heart. I think I'm jealous.

"Your telling me."

He looks at me unsure what I'm thinking. Realising where still connected I begin to dig though his mind. His gaze darkens, then goes blank as he lets me see who. He thinks to me

"It's you I used to think you were annoying then, it grew to kinda sisterly. Then sisterly love, then it changed. I had a crush that turned to love."

"I love you Phi."

"I... love you too Jay."

What am I saying...
